Need help w/Phenolic tip/glue combination

I have a Viper Platinum Series cue that I am attempting to make into a break stick. I don't have a clue of what material the ferrule is made of, but I've tried three different glues (2-part epoxy, Super Glue gel, and Tweetens 10-minute cement) all with disappointing results. After 5 to 10 breaks with either glue the tip pops off. I am sanding the top of the ferrule as well as the bottom of the tip and am allowing plenty of drying time before trimming/shaping the tip. Is there a glue that is better suited to a Phenolic tip as opposed to a regular tip? What about a hard leather tip as an alternative? Maybe a Milk Dud? Any help is appreciated.

Have you tried Gorilla glue?

if you can make the tip yourself on a lathe, make a little tenon and then drill a hole in the middle of the ferrule and then super glue it, will hold. If you are buying pre made tips you will probably have to change the ferrule out with a more porus material for the glue to hold

That's the reason most break cues with Phenolic tips are a 1 piece furrel/tip combo

gorila glue would probably be your best bet. you want to make sure the ferrule is 100% completly flat by using one of those top sander thingies or a lathe, if your sanding it by hand you've most likely given it an angle.

also, try taking a tip pick to the back of the tip before glueing it to roughen it up better.

super pro makes a really good break tip, its a very hard layered buffolalo, and extremly cheap.
