Need help with cue identification please........

A friend of mine has this old cue. It was given to him by the widow of the
original owner. To the best of her recollection, she's guessing that her late
husband bought the cue about 30 to 35 years ago. She also thinks that he
paid in the neighborhood of $ 200 to $ 300 back then. For some reason she
thinks that the name Richard Black rings a bell, but she is not sure of the
maker. The pin thread looks to be 5/16-18. To me it looks like a full spliced
forearm. Please take a look at the pics, and share your thoughts. My friend
would send the cue out to get authenticated, but would like to have some
idea of who to send the cue to. Thanks all. Much appreciated, Dom.

Hey Dom,

Richard Black was a good hint.
I haven't dug my Blacks out to compare but she could of been right.
If you buy this cue and sell your Mottey, I've got the ramen noodles.
I think I took the under on that one.

Thanks Ted, much appreciated. Right now, he's not
selling the cue. He just wants to know what he has.
I'm not selling the Mottey by the way. :thumbup:
 
Looks like it could be an unsigned Richard Black, possibly made by Mike Wheeler. I've seen a few like it.

Yeah, its actually a very nice cue. The finish is wearing off, but overall,
its a very nice cue. Morning bump for some more opinions. Thanks all, Dom.
 
I've also been told that it might be an old Jensen. Would anyone have
Mike Johnsons email address? Or maybe if someone knows Mike, could
they maybe alert him of this thread? I know he's probably very busy,
but my friend would be open to sending the cue out for authentication
if the cue maker did in fact believe it was one of his own.
