Need info on old Meucci cue

Hi fellow forum users. I am not trying to sell this cue. I only want to find out if anyone on here knows what Meucci named/classified this cue. I am unable (after having done an exhausting search online) to identify the year or model number Meucci this pole is.

If I have posted in the wrong forum I apologize, however I was unable to find a specific forum for this purpose.








I'm thinking quite strongly now that this cue was a "one off" and there's no other like it. I've never seen another Meucci cue that has the castle-like medieval alternating white & black gaps towards the butt and the forearm. It's an interesting design and it plays like a dream. It came with two pre-"Red Dot" shafts.

Found out about the cue

I ran into a fella who knows about the cue. It's specially made for a guy many years back. It came with two shafts (all hard rock maple with ivorine rings, etc.)

It's a one-of-a-kind made by Bob Meucci. He offered me a good sum of money to purchase it, but I declined. He has 372 Meucci cues in his collection.

It's a great hitting cue and I do a great job playing with it.

No...not one of a kind. Made either in 1996 or 1998. Either cue of the month or a Winter Series cue.

I had the same model cue a while back, It is a WS-2 they made two different winter series lines I don't think this one is shown in Budget Billiards archive.

I agree.

Not all of the cues are in the archive, and some are incorrect. It is a 1998 WS-2. The WS-2 in the archive is really the WS-9

I own the same cue. It is a WS-2 (Winter series 2), It came out in the late summer of 1995 for 1995/1996 winter.

Thank you. I have a friend who swears that my particular cue was the "prototype" for the WS-2, since he was in the pool hall in Judsonia, Arkansas when it arrived in 1993 -the same year the hall was closed and re-located into Searcy the following year.

He knows the man who owned the pool hall who ordered it special and it remained with him for twenty years before being sold to another fellow who sold it after 3 years to the guy I got it from. They all know each other and agree on this story.

I tried to explain this but to no avail. He swears he knows it was in 1993.

Easy. Contact Meucci.

If Meucci says it is a prototype then it was. If not, then it isn't. They may need the cue in hand to tell.

Contact Meucci!?! Ever tried that? Good luck! I have sent them multiple emails and called to follow up on repairs and refinishing I'd like done and have gotten nary a response.

I haven't had any contact with them in about nine years. I have only one Meucci, a Meucci Originals. Got it just to have one. I don't necessarily regret it, but I am well over it.


But for a definitive statement regarding the cue, I struggle to make another suggestion. I would suggest Mike Erwin if he were alive, maybe Scott is worth a shot?

The picture posted is from the brochure of the summer of 1995. The SE-6, SE-7, 95-26 (new version of M16/Giant Killer) and the WS-2. So it can't be 1998 when the 95-26 and the SE-6 came out in late 1994/early 1995. It is a WS-2, when I got the cue stick last year I did a lot of research to find out what the cue was. Meucci confirmed it as a WS-2. Furthermore I own the SE-7 which I bought new in 1995.

Is there anyway to get better picture of the joint? And of the joint with the shaft connected?

I never have seen one with a metal joint.

The question stated off about whether it was a one off custom. Now it is proposed as a prototype.
