NEED info on WHITE DIAMOND TIPS

I have NEVER seen a canvas-resin tip that ever had one single problem...so the choice what to use on Varney cues is pretty clear for me.

I've had mine for a while now and I've only chalked it up twice. I don't NEED to chalk it... I do on occasion as per my pre-shot routine, but I usually end up just setting up without chalking and I've miscued once out of hundreds of breaks... although I have to admit that was my fault, I got sloppy and rushed it :o

thanks for all the replies, i just bought a jump cue from mark bear and i am having him put on eon, i cant wait, also i did buy the 3 tips for 11.99 on ebay, one for my break and 2 jst to have in case someone i know wants one.

I got mine off of Ebay too and the guy I had put them on wanted to know where to get them. He doesn't know how to use a computer so I bought a bunch of them for him and traded some cue work for them. He was impressed with them as am I and I am sure you will like it.

The White Diamond tips are pretty much the same as Aegis. Back in 99 when I started experimenting with non leather tips...one of the first things I tried was a solid piece of Aegis, JB Coldwelded onto a fiber ferrule. Worked great...until Janis outlawed all "white" Varney tips on his tour. They worked fine. The new canvas-resin I use just grips the ball a better and holds chalk much better. As for those who complain about phenolics...they are a thing of the past. Phenolic tips or tip/ferrules will often crack/break and are hard to control the cueball with. One company who mass produces j/b cues with them has had so many cracking problems that they quit using the phen. and are now trying a carbon-fiber type.
I have NEVER seen a canvas-resin tip that ever had one single problem...so the choice what to use on Varney cues is pretty clear for me. ;)

Where can I buy these canvas resin tips?

Just a note about those hard tips..

They are damaging the CB's. I am not talking about any particular tip but just as a warning, The Viking Cue 9-Ball Tour will absolutely be banning particular tips from being used during our events. I also expect that many other tours and promoters will follow our lead on this issue.

The problem is that many new tips are harder than the CB's and are damaging the equiptment.

The Viking cue 9-Ball Tour which uses the Worls Standardized Rules will be in full compliance with the rules set forth by the governing body under section 17 of the WPA Tournament Table & Equipment Specifications rules which can be found at the following link - http://www.wpa-pool.com/index.asp?content=rules_spec .

The specific paragraph from those rules state;

The cue tip may not be of a material that can scratch or damage the addressed ball. The cue tip on any stick must be composed of a piece of specially processed leather or other fibrous or pliable material that extends the natural line of the shaft end of the cue and contacts the cue ball when the shot is executed..

More information regarding this will be addressed in the future in the form of a press release from The Viking Cue 9-Ball Tour.

Respectfully,

I have been looking to buy a j/b cue and have been lookng at the Jerico Stinger. They advertise their tip as being BCA compliant. What's the story with the stinger? Anyone have one or can recommend something different for less or the same money?

I have one, and man I love the damn thing. Problem is Jerry increased his price to the Stingers to $425 at http://jericoq.com

EDIT, the Stinger I have is just like this one :

He's only asking $350 for that one and if you can afford it I don't think you'll be disappointed whatsoever.

I got that sledgehammer on the Bay starting at $75 bucks, it does break monster.

They use a phenolic type tip as well.

i was looking into new tips and i stumbled upon white diamond tips. I am looking to use the on my jump cue as they advertise. had anyone used one or have a good or bad review on them to pursuade me to buy it or not? thank a lot, i am always up for trying something new, younever know but i wanted to ask first, thank you very much.

Buy them immediately, and buy a few extra because everyone you know will also want one. I love my white diamond, it is the perfect balance between effort-less jumps and chalk-holding/cue-ball control.

I have a table at home and I have never damaged any cue balls with the White Diamond tip. I have probably hit 150+ jump shots on my table and the cue ball is just fine.
