Need pocket specs for a Brunswick Anniversary???

I've done several searches and cannot find what would have been the original factory pocket measurements on a 1950's, 9 foot, drop pocket, Brunswick Anniversary DC table. Can you please help?

When the table is set up in c. two months, the mechanic has told me he will shim/face the pockets with the corner pockets being the now, customary 4.5"

My concern is that for a strictly amateur, recreational table, the tighter pockets may prove too challenging for folks such as family members who I am trying to get to join me in a game or two. It's hard enough to generate any interest from friends or family without making shot making overly intimidating.

You have answered your own question. How much did you weigh back in the fifties? The answer is it doesn't matter. It's about how much you would like to weigh today.

I just had my Anniversary completed. Oversize 8' the pockets are 4 7/8".
Didn't do any additional shimming, probably close to original specs.

Plays great and I personally think it's right for 14.1

Good chance that, as per Brunswick's M.O., the OEM size was determined just after the table was assembled.

I agree with the previous input: it's yours, do what you want with it.

How often do have guests on your table? How often do you play on it? My friend was trying to leave the pockets bigger so that guests wouldn't get frustrated, but later realized that the majority of play was with his pool playing friends who enjoy the challenge of tighter pockets and regrets not setting up the table to play tighter. Great table anyway,got one myself with 4 1/2" pockets and love it.

That was what I was thinking. Might be a good compromise between 4.5" and having bushel baskets...

That certainly is a real beauty!! Is it restored? Purportedly my table was bought new by a homeowner and never saw commercial play. I haven't even seen it yet, but even my wife and daughter said it was beautiful after they saw it in person.

My son just had his Brunswick 9 foot anniversary table installed in his first home - corner pockets are factory 4 7/8 - I think it is great if most of your guests are recreational players and you are happy being one as well!
As for 14.1,- it is ideal IMO
