Cheers!Welcome back! I had my aortic valve replaced three months ago, and finished up cardiac rehab, just yesterday. I feel great, and before long, you will too!
Well said.Looking at all of these responses, it is easy to see that Mike Webb is one of a kind! It's great to see so much love and adoration for a man that has always been willing to share his time, knowledge, and experience with anyone.
There are a lot of things I miss from growing up in RI, and Mike Webb is top 10. Wish you all the best on your road to recovery, Mike!
Your very kind.Just today I found out about Mike. He is indeed a special person who deserves the kindness and respect from the pool community and anyone that has known him.
I wish him nothing but clear sailing from here forward.
Thanks Mike for all that you do. Some of my greatest memories are when you shared some of your latest cue creations with me. I have recounted to so many people how incredible your work is.
I pray you "break 100".
Thank youMike, If you have any questions during recovery feel free to ask me.
I would be glad to help if I can. I had this done in 2021.
Just be careful not to overdue it, when I went through my therapy 3 days a week for 12 weeks, as soon as you arrived youThank you
I'm adapting to the changes and working to re-gain my strength. And some of the weight back.
1 Month in the hospital, 2 weeks of it, in a coma
A real wake up call.
I still have to go for therapy but I started my own exercise routine. I'm pushing but remaining careful.
MOST, of my Customers have been great but there's always a couple that think
Because your home
You must be 100 percent.
Oh boy!
Solid advice.Just be careful not to overdue it, when I went through my therapy 3 days a week for 12 weeks, as soon as you arrived you
put a heart monitor on so the nurse at the desk could watch your vitals while you worked out. I got stopped twice during
the 12 weeks for my heart rate rising. When therapy ended I was in a much better place. Wish you the best,
Ray
Actually just the opposite, the dark green leafy's and asparagus contain high amounts of vitamin K which thin out your blood, if you are on blood thinners you must be aware of how much vitamin k you consume and try to keep it consistent.Great news, Mike. My dad had a mitral valve replacement with a mechanical valve. The valve was still working 25 years later when he passed at 95 years old. What I learned over the years watching him, is to not skip scheduled blood tests, don't make any drastic changes to your diet, because it affects blood thickness, (watch those green leafy vegs, which thicken the blood) and develop a good working relationship with your cardiologist. My dad's dr. became like a family member to us. I'm still in touch with him -- 5 years after my dad's passing.
Best of luck to you for a speedy recovery!
You got the vitamin K part right, and the part where you need to keep your diet consistent right, but vitamin K is a blood-clotter, not blood thinner. Green leafy vegetables are high in vitamin K which can thicken your blood if eaten in abundance.Actually just the opposite, the dark green leafy's and asparagus contain high amounts of vitamin K which thin out your blood, if you are on blood thinners you must be aware of how much vitamin k you consume and try to keep it consistent.
Glad you are home and posting!Haven't been home in a month.
There's no place like home.
All I know is I have a friend that had heart issues and the vitamin K was her biggest concern. Learn what you can and pay attention to the levels as it is a major factor. You got the vitamin K part right, and the part where you need to keep your diet consistent right, but vitamin K is a blood-clotter, not blood thinner. Yup. For sure. My dad was on blood thinners for over 25 years. Can't miss a blood test, have to stay on top of the numbers, don't make any major dietary changes, stay in touch with your doctor and adjust your dose based on his or her recommendations. All I know is I have a friend that had heart issues and the vitamin K was her biggest concern.
