Get involved in 3-cushion billiards as a learning tool. Your focus is close to completely devoted to control of the cueball. Additionally, it's a nice break from pocket pool and can relieve some burnout and stress.

Hi Sean! I thought that I have seen/heard about them all...but I didnt knew this exact one, its very interesting drill (and surely very demanding one), I will give it a try for sure. THX! :)

After practicing that drill for a bit you can replace the sheet of paper with something smaller like a smaller scrap of paper or a Euro.

I haven't tried this dice-based drill from Bob Jewett, but it looks fun:

The basic idea is that you roll two dice, and the result indicates the long rail number and short rail number at which the cue ball should stop.

Although I am nowhere near your skill level,I think I am somewhat in the same boat as you. I can make great shots when needed but my position play needs a lot of work. I also need to find a break that consistently works for me. However,I can't seem to get out of this rut I find myself in. Every now and then I'll play lights out. I'm fairly consistent but I feel my game is not improving like it should. Plus I sometimes feel burnt out and find myself wondering why I still play the game. But a week or two of not playing as much cures being burnt out and after that I often extraordinarily well.

You may develop a marketing plan for yourself because a sponsor is not likely to come knocking on your door. It is but another leg of the journey that you are on. Soliciting a sponsor and keeping one is a practical and responsible goal to have as a professional player. Sometimes, professional players need a marketing person to fan the flames of sponsors who are looking for good representatives for their products and services. There may be someone in your group who would start the effort and give you some direction. I fear that your journey will be limited if you do not acquire some type of sponsorship in the future.

Never forget about the naysayers. Always remember them when you succeed at each subsequent goal. No need to throw it into their face. They will just shake their heads, marvel and not even remember how wrong they were. It is but another type of fuel for your fire and one that is easily replenished as there will always be those who prefer to pontificate about what you should or should not do and they are the very ones who wouldn't dare step forward into even one of your shoes, even for a minute, because they do not possess what you so surely do; and they feel that if by holding you back, they somehow will make progress in their own trivial pursuit and feel better about themselves.

Thanks,
JoeyA

Self-promotion is definitelly not my cup of tea as I feel it is sooo close to bragging......but you are probably right, it would help a lot to have a sponsor. As of naysayers I feel you are right too, especially at the evaluation of their psychology.
