I'm looking to have a custom wood quiver built for one of my Blacktail recurve;
It is built of Snakewood footed with gaboon ebony and myrtle vaneers. I need to find a few pieces of snakewood in the 8x3x1/2" range to have the quiver built.
The bower is Norm Johnson out of Reedsport, Oregon. Blacktail Bows and this is his Snakebit model. It is my dream bow come to life. And, as you can see, it puts the arrows right where I look...
Hi I have some snakewood , scrapes . Saveing for inlays , I'll go tru some and send pictures later , have Billiard swap meet to go to . I also have a 4" x 12" log . Be back later , if you don't hear from me Please PM me, as my memory short .
Norm keeps setting the bar higher and higher for other bowyers. The guy is flat out talented. I have owned around 6 of his bows over the years. Here's one I just recently sold;
This bow is made of myrtle footed with cocobola and purpleheart accents. The limbs are bamboo cored (like my Snakebit), myrtle vaneers, again footed into cocobola.
I have been shooting both pool and traditional archery since I was a kid. Shooting bows instinctively is a natural to a pool player...we do it all the time!
I was hoping to get some snakewood from a member here. I know there are some talented cuesmiths/woodworkers who may have some spare chunks laying around beggin to be put to use...
Looking to hear back from you Jim...
I have some nicely figured myrtle slats I can work into the deal, if desired...
thats neat!!:thumbup:
