Needed Cored Snakewood Handle

I have a couple 18" rounds I'd let go for just $900 each.

Wow. That would go down as some of the most expensive wood I've seen. I'll bet it's beautiful. I've seen a couple cues with snakewood handles..and wrapless Schick that was entirely snakewood...and they were all so gorgeous.

That's just for the sticks.........coring is an extra charge!

I've cored and sealed well aged snakewood that cracked after three years sitting in my wood room. It doesn't all crack, just a random 90+% of the pieces. Solid wood will crack and so will cored wood. I had a cue come back 7 years after I built it with a crack starting in the butt sleeve and the customer really took exceptional care of the cue.

Windows and points are fine but sleeves and rings really gambling.

It is too dense to impregnate. Pick something else.

I have seen Wildwoods selling snakewood that was impregnated a few times at the Expo. I know a cane/knife maker that has his snakewood impregnated and then drills a hole into it for 16 inches to hold a sword. I am puzzled at the conflicting reports I am getting. Some swear by impregnated snakewood and others say it won't work. So my guess is the truth is in the middle, meaning Snakewood that is impregnated may still give some trouble. By the way the cane maker also has his ebony impregnated.

Will take pics when I get home.
And it splinters like a son of a gun!
