Negative comments on my YouTube vids

I'm not at all bothered by this, as I have been publishing various things on the interwebs for over a decade... But, I always laugh when I get comments on my pool videos like "you guys suck" and "thats not how to play pool". In fact, I just got a new comment today on this Bank Pool video, stating simply, "these guys suck" (I removed the comment, tho). It made me laugh out loud at work, especially since this was one of my best games of bank pool on the Diamond, shooting around 50% for the game.

Someone *please* renew my shattered faith in my abilities, especially after such a crushing commentary by an obviously enlightened railbird... ;-) I shot decent in this vid, right? I mean, I missed a few that I shouldn't have, but I thought I pulled out some nice shots... My opponent had a rough go in this particular game, but he normally shoots better banks than I do; he's definitely capable of running 5 and out...

Alas, I guess I do indeed "suck" at pool, as the internet-railbird so poignantly pointed out. At least, compared to Efren...
 
I really like your youtube videos, most people that make negative comments are just pissed because they cant do what you can. Bank on Bro
 
They have no idea and probably wouldn't even entertain the idea of gambling with you guys. They don't realize that the shots you guys are making are not high percentage shots for anyone. Don't let it bother you as these are foolish and inmature comments at the least. Keep it up, I enjoy the videos!

Thanks man! These YT commenters just make me giggle... All talk and no gamble. One guy emailed me and asked if I'd put money on the line against him, since I was obviously "full of myself", because I post pool videos... I responded and asked if he'd play $30/game one-pocket. His response: "One-pocket? Come on now, don't start making up your own game!" LOLOLOL

Thanks man, I appreciate the nice words. I never let it bother me, I just thought it a funny phenomenon of the internet.
 
What kind of person gives negative feedback to someone sharing good video with the community?

A statement like that is a call to incite something. I guess it worked. Sometimes, a player will do thinks to incite what others would call 'action.'

I wish I had a Diamond table, and that people here actually played banks.

I apologize for my rude remarks on your video, and would love to visit your crew in Illinois. It seems like you take pride in your abilities, and share the love of the game. I cannot dislike a fellow player.

No worries...it's just been more than a few of these kinds of comments lately...and it's impossible to tell who's joking, surely you realize that. Take care, maybe I'll see ya in a poolhall someday...
 
Man I love playing banks, but nobody here will play. Seems like Kentucky is 5,000 miles away. Oh...wait...it IS.

Anyways, I am from Oklahoma (where One Pocket was invented) and I AM actually a decent bank player and would love to share some incite on what rules you guys play by. Do you use the same rules that they do in the Derby City Classic?

Best bank player I have played--->Kent Taylor (who happens to make a damn fine cue as well)

You can turn off open commenting

Note that you can setup your YouTube account to not allow comments, or require you to approve comments before anyone else sees them. (You get to approve them privately)

I agree.

Seeing that I made those rude remarks, I feel it necessary to explain my actions. I have apologized to Juan and I admit that I was trying to incite something. Well, I did, and he reacted the way I would I guess. I told him that I respect the fact that he posts his vids and to keep doing so, and that he is actually a fine player.

I hope I haven't offended anyone by my (now very apparent) bad joke.
 
It seems like making negative comments about videos (especially on YouTube) is the in thing to do nowadays. Someone always has something sarcastic to add, regardless of the quality of the video. I wouldn't let it bother me if I were you.
 
I have viewed your vids and I think they are good. You play on the diamond pro am if my memory serves me right. I post videos under the name forcefollow. I get negative comments to, mostly about the size of my table and pockets. Some don't like the fact that I take ball in hand playing the ghost. Don't feel bad, keep posting people out there appreciate it.

LOL... That was the general idea in choosing this name for our group of players. We couldn't think of anything more fitting, since most of the group are a generally rough crowd and live in a bad, bad neighborhood. When I lived there (up until three weeks ago), I had almost $3000 of stuff stolen in my last three weeks there. Ugh! Glad I got outta there!

Too true! It doesn't bother me, I'm quite used to it... I just think it's worth a good laugh now and then...

Which PSR album? I really like "810101", "Kairos", and "47Eridani". If I had to suggest just one, I'd suggest 810101. Or maybe "Kairos". Jeez, I can't decide!

We actually just finished recording our seventh album, entitled "Evil". I should have mp3s up on the PSR site very soon.
 
Aw, they're just jealous. I've never missed a ball while sitting in the bleachers.

Of course, I've never made one either.
