Negative people please read!

CJ, You are correct as a business owner myself and coming from a guy who's ran a pool room I can tell you this, We all meaning "business owners" have dreams of being successful and making tons of money, however sometimes our decisions may sound perfectly harmless at the time only to find out the mass destruction we could of caused. This is kind of like the WPBL, they came out with an Idea, marketed wrong, stepped on a few toes and stirred up a little controversy. Now as many businesses come across this type of behavior we both can say this--- IT"S not time to give up its time to step up do things better and try and overcome the obstacles as they appear.

To become a great pool promoter/supporter/enthusiast you must crawl, walk and run.. Just like anything else sometimes we make many mistakes and as long as we learn from them then we have a chance to move forward.

As far as the WPBL I hope they move forward. If they grab the attention of 100, 1000,10,000 more people that may show some interest to our industry than that is more than we have now, who knows if some people actually take the time to give it the chance It may add interest to the more popular games because this is a true FACT we are not growing at the rate as the economy progresses.

To answer the other question someone asked about what I meant pool is in the gossip industry, What I meant was this- the average person who heads to a bar is in hope of finding someone/people to sit and have a few drinks with and loosen up and tell them their problems. Alcohol seem to loosen the lips sort of speak. Also here's a good fact for ya, did you know?, after 9/11 one of the businesses that showed the most gains were your local bars, this do to the fact that everyone felt safe to have a couple drinks and mourn over their losses. So in pool you can relate because you can't tell me a pool player that you know that hasn't done similar to the same. It's the environment that is associated.
No matter what the condition is or the lack of business model of the WPBL their are a lot of our top players joining forces and they are not joining in hope of it lasting a few weeks or maybe a year. They are taking a chance based off of the long term business proposition that may give them that financial help that has yet to be provided by any other league, tour or system in our industry.

With that many lines, all running together, I finally gave up trying to read it. Please, on long ones like this, please break it up into paragraphs. It makes it much easier to read. Thanks,

Onepocketron,
Now that's some of the negativity I was looking for, J/K,, I will work on my punctuation more in the future, If you read it as long as a may seen you get the point... Thanks for reading..

Gossip industry, drinking alcohol mourning 9-11, all pool players drink in bars, no business model in WPBL. WPBL "taking chance based off of a long term business proposition."?????? HUH!?:confused:

Hate to be "negative".......
But you are all over the map. I have no idea what you're saying and don't know what you're trying to accomplish with this thread.

I can do this easily,
the more pool=the more interested= more money and opportunity for our sport.
Obviously that's the perfect world,
However I am a what have you done lately kind of guy and I understand the position on the WBPL hiatus, GREAT THINGS TO COME and in time we will see, if not think about all the talk about a game that didn't make it, as you can see its only uphill from here for the WPBL...

I believe it's been said "Like Attracts Like"

Yes, I believe it's been said "Like Attracts Like".... I understand your deeper point, the research and development will naturally happen and the WPBL may be part of this process. It has to happen somehow, somewhere, and sometime.

I vote for more scotch doubles rotation pool...that is actually interesting to watch.
Pool players wearing jerseys...well...it just looks wierd....Nice team colored shirts would be more appropriate....imo

My key word is the effort, I can honestly say the amount of effort that has been put in and yet they seem to figure out how to get the guys there and through all the B.S. I have yet to hear of any player that wasn't going to return.

GO WPBL!!!!!

Have you seen the purses top professionals play for to make a living? With given handicaps, they struggle to win weekly tournaments, where winner takes $200.

And in major tournaments, the fields are so strong, nothing is predictable.

Clearly OP, you have to recognize there is no money in professional pool. So of course they will try well, just about anything to get by. This includes the WPBL.
It is such the pipe dream, I wish you luck. I see no future in it.

Or mixed scotch doubles. Both men and women tours working together for a common goal.
