I stopped at a pool room in Grand Rapids Mi and played Neil that posts on here. I am from Missouri and I will tell ya what, this guy was on fire. I am a low A player and he spotted me the seven. We played like five races to eleven. I don't think he missed maybe five balls. He has that center to edge and mirror system down cold. Hats off to Neil. I will be back:(

I'm questioning the guys name. Never heard of Neil from GR. But there are many great shooters from that area.
Maybe just Neil for a day.lol

I'm calling BS on you sir. :shakehead:

It was great playing with you Shain! Actually, it was 4 sets and I missed 5 balls. Three I was just plain sloppy on, one skidded, and one was an extremely tough shot that I went for anyways to see if I would make it.

You will love your time with Stan next month! I used pro one from Stan, and 90/90 from Ron Vitello on all open shots. Kicking was a combo of a number of different systems.

And Mitch, that does not mean I ran out every game, I played safe when required, and it was on a barbox.

Which guys name? I'm Neil, duh, and I live in Grand Rapids. The OP's name is Shain, and his job requires him to travel the road all the time. He was in the area and we met up. Had a great time!

I had a feeling that Neil could walk the walk.

Although I suspect that God-given talent had something to do with his playing.
I think most of us have it...it's up to us how to draw it out.

Now how about some "What would...?", Neil?

Ditto, above. I miss them. (Though Morhts "Analyze" threads are in the spirit of them...and that's better than nothing)

NOT to take anything away from God, because he does play a big part in my life. But, don't be so quick to dismiss hard work, and really paying attention to what actually is happening and what actually works and doesn't work, and taking the time to know the difference. ;)

..mine is getting better at guessing...and my bank manager tells me when it's
not working.:embarrassed2:

I think coaching is important...I came from a golf course where coaching is honored.

9 out of 10 times, people are not actually doing what they think they are doing. That is where coaches are fantastic, whether that coach be a person or video. (preferably both) Unfortunately, in pool, coaches are few and far between because the coach has to know what to look for, and be able to explain what you are actually doing wrong. Having a good coach would be a fantastic thing for anyone!

I'm shocked. A very well known pro who posts here every once in a while (only 17 times a day) said on several occasions that Neil was merely a Virtual Pool adept and a pool physics nerd who didn't know to chalk the tip on a real cue.

Apparently, sometimes the pros are dead wrong.

Yeah, I'm just a C player that needs someone to tell me which end of the cue to use on every shot. Funny thing is, about 5 years ago my son got me one of those virtual pool video games. I watched it once and haven't seen it since. Just not the same.:D

You are 1000% correct!

If a person was doing what he/she thought to be wrong then they wouldn't do it now would they? Yet they will argue til the cows come home that they did such and such correctly even though the result does not support their feeling.

I agree...I started working at a pro shop when I was twelve...I had some par
rounds when I was fifteen...played scratch at sixteen.............
...because I had a boss that wouldn't give me a break....if I shot a 50 for any
nine holes, even when I was twelve....month on the practice field.
