I had pretty much that same saw in about that same condition about 12 years ago and I sold it for around a couple hundred dollars way back then. So it does sound like you got a good deal.

We use one when butchering hogs. Split the backbone and cut up the ribs real good.

Was a good deal

Brent,
I just bought a Ryobi 9 inch Band Saw last night and it was $109.00:eek:
Yours looks like it would last forever..
You got a better deal than me..Although mine is not the "Big Boy's Size"..
It's Japanese or Asian size...:o

this was his dad's saw who used for woodworking
he died a few years ago,
and he's been using it to cut up deer since then

It will take some TLC to bring that thing back to life. But I'm willing to bet it would be a fun project... Have Fun And Keep Looking For The Deals thats the cuemakersway....... Ray:thumbup:

You're right Dave,
The blade comes fully intoxicated and swerves left and right..even after adjusting the Ball Bearing roller guides..
So, I make a Table top (Made from a white cutting board) with a slot just the thickness of the blade and screw it on the existing table top.
It keeps the blade from wandering..I put on guides on the sides so I can put spacers do more precision cuts.. And it doe cut pretty accurate..:)
I mod everything. I don't know what those tool designers are thinking about, but, the guys who approve their designs for production runs are at fault..IMO

Brent, You got a point.. I thought the attached Light was the best "add on" Item too. I took it off and used it for my HCI Maker

I bought the Ryiobi one also, same complaints. Now I just use it to cut anything messy, or damaging(like sheetmetal, aluminum, plastic) that I don't want to do on my 12" craftsman.
