New books received in a trade

Just picked up these 4 books for 3 old Murray wall racks and a anniversary wall rack. Seems like a good trade. Anyone know value here? Buddy hall has a bend in the cover and the Grissim cover jacket is beat up

Well, "Hustler Days", and the Cornbread Red book are relatively new books.. Minimal value...

The Billiards book by Grissim actually surprises me... It is being sold used on Amazon and Abe's Book for about $14.00. I personally think it should be worth more than that, but as always, it comes down to how many copies are on the market..

It's a great book, and has a picture of Efren BEFORE anyone but the author and a few Airmen stationed at Clark AFB in the Phillipines knew who he was. He was Number TWO in the Phillipines at the time... :-) IMHO, that alone ought to make it worth more than $14.00.

Which brings us to the Rags to Rifleman book. Believe it or not, there is a recently sold copy on Ebay for about $150.00, "Buy it Now" price... Might be able to get a bit more.. Some fool is asking for nearly $500.00. I am pretty sure it is a paperback, yes?

There doesn't seem to be many copies of the Buddy Hall book.. I've wanted desperately to read it for years, as I've heard it's quite good, but the price has always been very high for it, even if a copy could be found. :(

My estimate, if your were to sell them all on Ebay? $200-$250.

They all look exactly like my copies of the same four books. I had to go to the bookshelf and make sure mine are still there.

In addition to ebay, you should also check Amazon used to re-confirm the resale price range.

The covers are printed upside down but the rest of the books are right side up. This makes them more valuable to collectors.

I'm surprised to see the Grissim book at such a low price, I've seen it listed up to $275.00 before. Don't think it sold for that, however. The Rags to Rifleman can be a crap shoot, I've seen what I think are outrageous asking prices. I got mine from Ebay for $30 or $35 and have no intention of selling it. It is extremely hard to read because the print varies from signature to signature and is very small either way.

I've seen the Grissim book go for $9 to $80 on EBay and for $85 for an autographed copy. The dust jacket doesn't hold up well so a nice one is a big plus.

At one point Rags to Rifleman was selling discounted for $18. On EBay it has gone for as much as $325 and as little as $43 (2004). The last price I saw was $178 in March.

The hardback of Hustler Days is selling for about $10 in new condition. The best site I've found to look for books is http://used.addall.com for used books and http://www.addall.com for new books. That site looks at a bunch of used book sites including Amazon.

The Cornbread Red book is available delivered, used for under $10. A brand new copy is about $25.
