New Break format suggestion

I don't know if this will work better than winner breaks, but i am sure it is better then alternate breaks. Might be a worthwile experiment which I once saw in a European tournement.

The format would be that as is always the case the one who wins the lag breaks. However from there on it would be the one who trails the match breaks. Whenever the match is tied the winner of the lag breaks. That gives the lag more meaning and makes matches much closer giving a higher chance of a hill - hill matchup.

If this happens then remember Sirus came up with it first :o :o

What u guys think?

I would like to change it to what they do on the Eurotour + add breakbox.

On Eurotour the players have 3 breaks each, race to 10. With this you can see 3 B&R, but still the opponent get his oppurtunities to crawl back in the match.

Besides, they have got rid of the boring soft-break. On Eurotour 3 balls have to pass the headline where you break from, if not the opponent gets the shot after break. (If you pocket 1 ball, only 2 needs to pass, if you pocket 2, only 1 need to pass the line)

How about alternate breaks but 3 balls have to pass the headline. Will that work?

The way I see it, given time time to study, players can figure out what break will work to get an advantage. Soft break, hard break... some will be able figure it out. Audience preference on what break they want is a different matter... But players will find less use for s string break cue if the soft break works which for me is an art. It will not work on all tables though.
