Good to see Darren Appleton playing well.

Hoping Chris Melling gets a result though, love his style.

melling's been playing patchy. some brilliance, some brainfarts, some simple misses. he's actually got a favorable route. fellow veteran r. babica i think he'll beat, fortunski/lo ho sum is tough, but if he battles though that then the last 16 is probably easier than any of those

Yep.

I just happen to think this break rule is too difficult, and if Matchroom tightens the equipment to the extent they suggest they will, it will become even tougher.
It's definitely a different game than what I'm used to watching. I'm starting to like it.
I'll trust Emily here if she feels that fewer break and runs is what the game needs.
I thought she had previously said she wanted to see someone have a perfect match. I'd like to see that, too, but I'm glad she's not making the game too easy and sacrificing competitiveness for headline grabbing stats. It's nice that people aren't just cruising through several racks, and that the other player will have a few chances at the table.

...
And Poland gets "penalized" for that with two first round clashes between their players (while US fans regret about only one) :)

How many poles in total, how many from the states in total?
Sorry if I touched your feelings, wasn't intended. I was just referring to Poland having four players inevitably cut to two after L64 round (even though they could be lucky, with more friendly draw, and skilled enough to carry 8 or all 9 to L32).

It was a pretty simple question. How many people from Poland entered the tournament. How many people from the United States entered the tournament. WTF does feelings have to do with it? People are strange.

so final 64 is single elimination races to 9? i thought it was 13 or is that for the last 32?
