New cue design

Another idea also would be to take the design from the front and reverse it in the sleeve to tie that cool reverse point design in with the back...

Ive thought about that as well. It's the easiest way to make the design cohesive but I'm not traditionally a fan of reverse points. I'll have to give that some thought. The point design is the main design feature.

Yes, that is exactly the cue I was thinking of. I hope yours turns out just as nice and nice to know it was part of your inspiration.

I think i get what Eric is saying now "scalloped"

if you make the diamond stylized with concave angles while widening the diamond it will feather the veneer out and create a cool effect. i'll draw something real quick.

certainly not a best attempt but maybe something good will come of it.

That's pretty close, except I was thinking of the whole diamond being scalloped to a little more degree so as to overlap the smaller diamonds. Zeeder said it would be too bulky or require extending the sleeve, which neither he wants. I think he's right. Another idea may be making all of the diamonds the same size, so they overlap. Or maybe something different altogether, while still incorporating the silver diamonds. IMO, the critical factors are the silver diamonds, and some type of overlapping dimension that will flow & compliment the front. The veneered diamonds may not be the solution.

I've just had an idea! I'll get it mocked up later tonight.

I like the forearm. I think the sleeve needs more work in it or a spread of the design to balance out the butt.

i think you're right: diamonds between the diamonds, high and low.

if it's wrapless, segment it. maybe repeat butt sleeve design in the center segment.

The silver in the points is definitely meant to be slim and elegant. I had envisioned pealing back the veneers to reveal the silver sliver. I'll definitely talk with the Cuemaker to get an idea of what he thinks he's capable of and what effect can be achieved realistically.

My design theme thus far has definitely been tweaking classic design elements to come up with something unique but still very classic. I'll be coming up on Hercek's list and I definitely want to come up with something special for that one so I will definitely take your suggestion and look outside of typical cue designs for inspiration!

Joel is great to work with,I let him ride with the design knowing he will come up with a unique cue.I like this design, nice work

Ok, I finished mocking up the idea but I screwed up the placement a bit so the silver is a bit chunkier than I'd like. Try to picture the merged bridged points in the sleeve pulled apart to have similar spacing to the rings as the forearm points and that will give a smaller diamond instead of the chunkiness that is the current render.

This design started out as me trying to do simple and elegant and it has turned into absolute monster...lol:

There ya go!... THAT works very nicely.

Thanks guys, I agree that this is what is "supposed" to go with the forearm! I went ahead and spent the time to do the proportions of the points a little better:

If you'd like to send me 2 JPG's, the full forearm layed out flat with all 8 points, the ring work, and joint AND the entire sleeve layed out as well ( the wrap area I have )..I can put it in my primitive but cool 3d program and send you what the cue would look like similar to the pics below... Pm me if interested and I'll send ya my email...

Zeeder this is a great design. I absolutely love it.

Skins I am unable to send you a PM due to some settings on your part I believe.

Thanks again Tim for 3Ding these for me! It looks awesome. I also appreciate everyone who posted and, especially, those who helped with thoughts and critiques.
