New cue help!

Hi there!

It's been quite sometime since I've posted on here, and I have to admit it's because of a lack of game time on my part. I've been doing a lot of other things and haven't had time to crack down on my nine ball game, but it's about time to rekindle the billiards fire. So to speak.

I'm looking to have a custom Cue built for me, and I would need it done in a relatively short period of time.where I'm from it's difficult to find someone who produces both equality Cue and who is reliable. My requirements for a Cue are as follows, with also being open to any suggestions or recommendations. Ideally I'm looking for a Cue maker to make a Cue something like this:

I'm very tall at 6'5 and most cues are so incredibly short for me, and thus I have a hard time on 9ft tables, even at my height. So first and foremost I need a cue that is at least 60" long. 30/30 or otherwise. Longer may be better but again I'm open to suggestions

I've been shooting most recently with a clunky old McDermott weighing in at 19.5oz. I'm looking to lose some weight here and shoot for an 18oz.

I want a nice bright wood. More on the color side of flamed maple with some type of exotic point layout. (Ebony, snake wood, babinga, rosewood etc)

The shaft I want ( if I was forced to pick a manufactured one) would be a jacoby edge hybrid, or a 214. I've heard curse makers can make shafts 10x better than most manufacturers if they're particularly skilled. I'd like something around the 12mm side, but hey....I don't mind paring something custom with a Jacobi or predator shaft.

I'm really hoping to get some good advice here and maybe even find a route to getting this cue made sooner than I thought. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. And thank you in advance.

BD cues all the way , his SS360/2 shaft is way better than the jacoby edge hybrid .
I suggest buying one at 12,50mm .

60 inch cue plus

Personally I think you are screwing up the balance.

Longer cues weigh more and you are wanting a 60 inch plus cue and you want it in 18 oz

My best suggestion is to have the cue made out of wood that is not heavy like ebony.

Maple or purple heart is most likely the best choices.

The one and only 60 in cue I owned the shaft was 4.2 oz

Right now I am working on a 5 inch extension that fits the joint section of the cue.
I haven't weight the extension and the extension is chucked up in the lathe or I would weigh it but my best guess is it will weigh at least 3 to 4 ounces, bring the customer cue weight up to 25 or 26 ounces because he already has a 60 in cue and it weighs 21 ounces already.

I believe he said he was 6 ft 4 inches..............................

Will your pool case except a 30 in butt and shaft.

Most cuemakers are not going to have 30" butts coming in at about 14oz lying around partially done. You will have to get something custom made and this usually takes some time. I have made cues as long as 63" (31/32). Making a 30/30 cue is not a problem, even at a total weight of 18oz... it just takes some time. If you want something specific be prepared to wait a bit, the pool table is not going anywhere.
