This cue is almost complet for one of my customers.. This cue will have a black leather wrap when its finished. Let me know what you guys think..

Is that Wenge in the butt sleeve? Don't think I've ever seen one with arrowhead designs... very unique. That's going to be a beautiful cue. My personal opinion on the wrap would be to go with something brown rather than something black. Please make sure you post up pics when the cue is complete. Someone is going to be a happy camper.

Yep thats wenge in the points and butt sleeve. Well this cue was completly designed by the customer and he requested a black leather wrap.. Maybe if I can find a leather that will match the tone of the wood I can talk him into that.
 
Let me know how much it takes to seal that wenge if you will...I have some wenge in the round and will be using it in a cue soon....

I wanted to add I like the design of this cue...it's unique with the arrowheads...

Actualy its already sealed with a coat of west system so I'll get back to ya tomorrow.. and thanks for the coment..
 
Nice looking cue, I really like the inlays. I'd love to see the finished pics.:)

Oh, I'd have to go with a white/brown speck irish linen wrap if it were mine.:cool:

Cue ...

I think the arrowhead in the spears is a little too big, and a brown wrap definately, perhaps a darker brown leather wrap, or a dark orangeish brown (dark rust color).

i dont think it will look bad. collars are black. without anything else black the collars might look out of place
 
Pretty cool looking design. Looks like you did the ringwork simular to what I have done before only you threaded a steel collar over it. I sleeved bacote over mine, and capped it off with a phenolic collar. I shot with that cue to test It,and didn't want to give it up. The owner told me It ruined all other cues for him LOL. He's ranked a seven in our league, and last time We matched up he wouldn't play Me because he didn't have the cue with him that night. I've been wanting to try It with a steel collar. Please let Me know how it hits when you are done if You don't mind. I like the arrow head design, nice work:) Greg
 
I like it. I used to hunt arrowheads with my father and grandfather years ago, so I really like the design.

Regarding the suggestion about brown leather rather than black leather, did you consider talking to the customer about adding the black and metal ring below the sleeve as well? That way, when the black leather is added, it might be framed better?

Wenge is not used all that much, but I think it is successfully used in this cue. Adding a brown leather wrap might be too much brown and I think the brown in the wenge would be nice against the black leather. Also, wenge as black veining. Those will stand out when finished up against the black leather.

The arrowheads against the wenge is sort of like when you turn one up and it is laying on the black and brown soil. I think wenge was a very nice choice for this cue.
