Fresh in my mail today was this nice hunk of wood from the shop of Dave Kikel Snakewood handle - ebony forearm - 3 long snakewood points - 3 shorties in thuya - sleeve of thuya - 6 ebony diamonds recut with snakewood - all ivory double spears top and bottom - rings of 18 blocks of thuya at all positions sandwiched between ebony - stainless radial pin - 18.9 oz

Beautiful cue. I didn't think most cue makers used snakewood for anything more than points or inlays. Everytime I've inquired about using it for the handle or forearm of a cue I was told it was too unstable. LOL

Dave only agreed to using snakewood that was 5+ years in controlled climate. Using it for the handle was HIS ides, I just figured it would be points and embellishment, but Dave of course saw beyond that!
 
My favorite cue builder! Dave does incredable work with balance to boot. My 99 Kikel is my player.
