i ordered a professional instead of a gold crown because i like everything i have read
about diamond. i have played on gold crowns all my life but never on a diamond . i keep
reading the two tables play different. different how ? i have 6 weeks before delivery so
any opinions between the two are appreciated. thanks

In my personal experience there are 2 differences worth noting:

1. The pockets play tougher (even than a triple shimmed GC)
2. The rails bounce more.

You can obviously get used to it but #2 has thrown me for a loop for years. It doesnt seem to be consistent from shot to shot how much more it bounces than on a GC.

looking forward to the tight pockets , separate the men from the boys .
rails do take getting used to , but on this beauty, i am looking
forward to a lot of table time .

Ive played on nothing but diamonds for the past 10 years and just started playing on a Brunswick. The differences are Brunswick pockets are more forgiving and rails bank short on diamonds.

Absolutely true.

I believe the short banks issue has been taken care of with the new rail configuration on the blue label tables. I think you will find playing on your Diamond to be more consistent play.
Yes I love old GCs but when I go to the pool hall I will find some spots on rails to be dead on some tables, a small table roll here and there.Double shimmed pockets unless done absolutely correct will not play consistent pocket to pocket. Then I just wish I was playing my match on a Diamond table. You will have a beast on your hands with the Diamond. You will be a " spoiled happy camper."

1. I still fill like the diamond (even the newer blue label tables) bank short but as long as you adjust for it you can consistently bank balls in the pocket....

2. Yes!!!!

3. Hell yes!!!!
