I've done about all I can with Palmers at this point. I am still going to maintain the web site, help people ID cues, and continue to collect and document them, but essentially the job is done.

If there were enough examples of Frank Paradise cues and materials around, I would do the same thing for them. It's a shame, but due to the lack of documentation and bona fide examples, Paradise is not a brand I would consider trying to document and catalog. There are many cues represented to be Paradise cues that are not.

I am going to move on into Brunswicks. I have a few nice ones and I am interested in putting together as much information as I can about the company. It's a lot of work, but here is an example of what I'm doing:

http://www.palmercollector.com/Brunswick1939.html

I don't think the site will be ready to roll out for many months yet - but this will give you an idea of where I'm heading at this point.

I'm willing to wager that www.brunswickcollector.com (hehe) will be the #1 authority in Brunswick knowledge. You have set the bar too high for anyone to hit regarding Palmer history and knowledge, and look forward to reading the same with your new endeavor, Chris....

edit - I was actually joking about the url above, but after clicking on it... nice redirect!

It's nice to see someone put the time and effort into preserving the rich history of pool. Especially when they do it as good as you have been. Preserving the history is good for everyone, whether we are makers, collectors, hobbyist or just appreciative of fine craftsmanship.
Looking forward to spending too much time on the site.

I am sure you will do them proud Chris. I wouldn't be surprised, if they found out how authoritative you are with respect to the Palmers, that they might consider some type of sponsorship for your site as a referenced link. You will probably end up being the guy they send customers with questions to. I've got an old tournament trophy cue from 1913 if you need pics of some of the early stuff. It is a pointed cue but not really fancy. has the MOP plate in the butt section with an ebony spliced shaft. Let me know. It is not for sale, but is pretty neat!

Scott,

When I get rolling, I definitely will want pictures of the old cues. If you know the year of your Brunswick table, I have a couple of catalogs with the Anniversary from the 1950's - I can give you a copy of the original ad for the table.

Chris

Chris, you are the epitome of class and dilligence. Your work has entertained, informed, and warmed the hearts of every single visitor. I cannot express my gratitude enough for your endeavors you have shared with everyone. Please feel free to once again provide us with another example of your hard work via Brunswick cues. Your work will eagerly be awaited. Hangemhigh

Not sure, can you tell me how I can find out. I know there are numbers stamped on it somewhere, but I'd be lying it I told you I knew! Thanks.
Scott

I PM'd you about something else.

Brunswick table dating

Though stuff. One of my friends was a distrubitor for decades and he could only get close. The model name was the best guide and what metel was used in the pocket area and even the way the slate and rail bolt attaching constructions were a good indicator of the decade some of those tables were made.
Good luck
Nick.
