Hi everybody, I,ve decide to throw my hat into the Full-Splice arena. I spent the last 4 months on the design techniques nessessary to accomplish 5 specific parameter goals;

1- Sharp points at both ends.
2- Guaranteed perfect allignment, both front and back.
3- Overall splice length at least 12 inches.
4- Points can be as close as 3 inches from joint face.
5- Unlimited wood species choices, and veneer color choices.

I can assure you all that this is a true Full-Splice, and not a "pantograph inlay". Attached you can see a computer generated version which is a solid rendering of the actual design. I intend to sell these as blanks, or if anyone is interested, I will of course build the entire cue to order.

I will start production mid July. But for now I am very much interested in any comments or questions any of you may have. So please feel free.

Thank You All, Tex

Sorry Guys and Gals, I sent the wrong picture

Tex,
Do you have a ballpark price on the blanks yet?
Send me a PM...ebony forearm, killer birdseye handle, Veneers (inside-out): black, yellow, orange, red
Thanks,
Joe

With reasonable price willing....I would like to be one of the first to order. I would be looking for a titlist colored veneers (Purple, Teal, Mahogony, Natural) with a maple forearm and either a purple heart or rosewood butt. Please send me a pm for pricing. Thanks. Rob.

If they look as good as you make them sound I'd order one. What's the turnaround time?

Questions...

How long have you been making cues?
How do you process your wood?

I'm in

Just picked a John Davis blank. Please post or pm info as I am definitely interested. No wrap though. You doing those?

You need actual pics, not photoshopped. These pics are not easy to tell what the blanks will look like due to the adjustments being made.

I have been making cues off and on since 1981. I have a rather large supply of wood that has been hanging for no less than 6 years in a climate controlled storage room.

I am still tooling up to do Full-Splice Blanks, And it eill be a couple of momthe before I actually start takin orders. However I will respect any serious inquiries as they come, but I am not going to accept deposits until I am ready to produce.

Thanks, Tex

I'm having all kinds of scrambled brain activity trying to make heads or tales of this statement. It'd be interesting to see what a pantograph inlay that could be confused with a full-splice would look like.

Hi Doug, Thank you for your responce, Actually I don't even know how to use photoshop, but it is understandable how one might think the picture is generated, or altered that way. Actually what you are looking is a rendered, 3-D representation of a design which was produced using Cadkey, which is an engineering program, which simply depicts what an assembly of parts would look like by adding some stock colours and textures. From a mechanical standpoint what you see is exactly what you get.

Thanks again.

Respecfully, Tex

The only way I can describe it is that the points would have a radius finish, and if you could somehow deactivate the glue holding it all together, you would have flat-bottomed pockets and thin flat-bottomed inlays that would cover the otherwise normal fingerjointed full-splice between two unlike species of wood.

The reason I made the pantograph referance was to dispell any suspicions that may arise with regard to my claim of "guaranteed allignment of points front and back". I do appologize for what I now see as a rather ambiguous statenent.

Thank you for noticing.

Got it. Thanks.

Did Tex ever get these going? Surprised there hasn't been any more out of him in so long! Love his work....

Full-Splice Blanks

Hi Everybody, sorry I.m taking so long, there are several technical issues that needed to be worked out; which i have done. Now I'm finishing all my set-ups. I expect to be producing my first example by mid February. I will surely post some pics as soon as its ready. I want to thank you for remembering, and once again I apologize for not serving updates. Promotion is not my forte.

Regards to all, Tex
