New Fury Cue

I recently was in the market for a new cue. I currently have a scorpion cue (model sco23) and I have been getting used to it as i recently starting play pool again after taking a few years off. I have been getting pretty good with this cue (not that im any good by any means because im not). I have started pocketing more and more balls and have just been getting the feel for it and I like it alot. Although a guy at my local pool hall had this Fury cue and he let me hit some balls with it...and wow I couldnt miss with this thing and the hit on it was like nothing I have ever felt before very smooth and a consistent feel....so on a impulse buy I went and ordered one of the DL series which was the same series this guy had. The guy said that they are not really known but they make good cues. I was wondering what your all's take was on these cues?

Here is the one I ordered should be here monday.

I dont know much about them, but the one in the pic is a nice looking cue. All that matters though is if you like the way it plays.

Rocket's Fury

"Rocket" Rodney Morris used to play with a Fury..
I think he was sponsored by them... He still could give everyone in Hawaii
the 6,7,8...

I mean't there's nothing wrong with the cue... It didn't seem to hinder Rocket's preformance..
And, Fury has some nice designs..

I just purchased Fury NR-15, still waiting for it to arrive.

They do hit well, but from the ones I have been around, they can be very tempermental if not stored correctly, I have seen shaft warpage and whatever adhesive is used in the ferrul can tend to get brittle and you end up with a "ticking" noise.

This can be said about any cue not stored correctly, but I do know they have a tendancy to be a little quirky. If you store it correctly and take care of it, I hope it plays beautifully for you for year(s).

That is the very same cue I have. I have not have any problems with mine. Going on about 7 or 8 months.

I agree with everything you have said, I do cue repair and I have seen these problems many times, not to single out Fury, but with all Asian import cues including the top of the line imports, such as Lucasi.

I also agree that what ever adhesives they are using are very temper mental, especially where heat is concerned. Another problem that is very common is for wraps to come loose, here again what ever adhesive they are using will breaks down over time if exposed to warm temperatures.

In the end thought they are decent cues for the money, and if a person like the way the cues hits that is all that is important. As far the repairs, I especially don't mind them, they keep me plenty busy!!!!!!:)

Take care and good post

Follow up report: I have played with the cue 2x since I got it and WOW....hits like a charm, the weight and balance is spot on and there are no cosmetic defects with it what so ever.

As far with the issues...that can happen to any cue that isnt properly cared for. The most abuse mine gets is getting leaned against the wall while I rack balls, other than that its in my hands usually till im done playing then its bank in the case for storage and I take my cues in from my car every night so they dont get cold and heat up again ect.

After i shaped my tip the way i wanted it, i was doing 5 and 6 ball runs with no problems

You are certainly right, it can happen to any cue. However, not to the extent or as quickly as it happens to these import cues. I am certain with in a year you will have a better understanding of the problems that are going to occur.

I will check back with you in a year.

Manwon I have this same exact cue...Its been about 7 months what should I look for. At this moment it seem fine and I had it looked at by the guy that services my cue about a month back. Darn just remember left it in the car be right back...Lol...:grin-square:

hi

I got mine, it looks awsome. I like how it plays, hit is good and I like balance point.
I dont like LePro tip.

If after a year shaft goes bad I will get Predator 314 or something.

I still like Mezz cue more than any I tried, I made big mistake seling it :(
