New Game (T-Ball)

due to the popularity of the game there with so many league player and tournaments in general in the MW for time constraints and cost of space thats why you see the local and such on BB and most reginal events like the WD event with 128 players.....cant do that in 2 or 3 days on 6 9fts. So i get it, they have their place. But in their own little way they stifle learning, but thats also a result of much league play for many.

again grey area....many things like that which i say should be taken wisely with a grain of salt.....but still burn all the bar boxes! lol

maybe if they switched back to less tables but bigger and better ones and the lines were longer......the cream would rise.
;)

Yes, probably. Those with the playing bug will play on anything. I'm guilty of that myself. (accept playing on bad 3C tables) But these are places of Business and not necessarily pleasure. They want to make money. oh well, right!

I'll be the first to admit my game is far from perfect, and definitely has it's share of shortfalls. However, spotting balls isn't one of them. 1P is extremely popular, more so than you give it credit for. Another cue spot that's even more popular, snooker, has balls spotted every other shot. Not only is it impossible to create something that will appeal to every single person, it's also completely unnecessary.

You know what was wildly successful when I was a kid. The EZ Bake Oven, but there wasn't a single boy on the block who owned one. If only they made the oven in Jet Black with flames on the side...

Maybe world-wide you might see spotting a ball not being an issue. But I'm seeing more and more pool halls closing down. And those that have 3c and snooker tables are removing them because not enough players are playing and its taking up room they could use for other things. Well atleast the areas I visit. NYC, NE FL. Again, I find your game interesting, just noted that spotting a ball in certain situations my keep it from being more popular with other groups of people (ie bar table players) Its nice to see someone trying to come up with a new game. Good Luck!

1) The balls have to be frozen otherwise there is a game breaking (lol) break.

2) Is breaking rail first allowed?

3) Instead of spotting balls how about this? If you aren't allowed to make your own balls in the side pockets. But making your opponents makes them dead.

4) There has to be a rule about your balls going in your own pockets. Otherwise you can block them up. You cant rectify this by giving ball in hand to your opponent because then his goal is to shoot your opponents balls in their pocket instead.

5) Ball in hand is too strong in this game.

6) Because there are two cue balls, intentional fouls become hectic. With ball in hand being too strong you then have to figure out which cue ball or if both cueballs have to be moved. I say this because I could just kick one rail behind my opponents stack and give him ball in hand but my cueball is still in a very favorable position.

1. Not sure I understand. Yes, the balls should be frozen or as close to frozen if possible. Even if it's off just a bit, I don't think someone is going to win off the break.

2. I did make an amendment. On the break, the CB and 2 object balls must hit a rail. If you can do that while kicking, then yes, you may break rail first. Don't forget you are jacked up on the break which might make it awkward for some.

3. I'm going to stick with the spotting of balls for now. I don't like the idea of "dead" balls. I'd rather the winner be the person that makes all of theirs in the required pockets first.

4. If my ball is blocking my opponent's pocket, they can use their turn to pocket that ball, and then it gets spotted. They can also combo their ball following it in behind and still get the point while my ball would be spotted. I like the idea of allowing balls to block pockets, because it adds another element of defense. At the same time, how long would you keep the pocket blocked. After all, you would still need to get that ball to the other side of the table to be in scoring position.

5. I agree. I removed the BIH rule.

6. No more BIH. I think a 3 foul rule would solve intentional fouls.

Fair enough.

To be completely honest, I don't care about bar table players. So if this game doesn't cater to them, I'm fine with that.

Thanks

Thinking about the break, maybe two seven ball racks, rack your own. One or two to a rail leaving the safety break as an option. Much easier to set up that way. I do like the idea have making any ball a good hit besides the eight. That gives you less ball in hand and not of the one pocket your moving around.

But then it couldn't be called "T-Ball"
