Informing a newbie about forum rules is bashing? Seems a little harsh.
Sent him a message and didnt hurt his rep I thought about it.
It seemed more of a flaming comment then anything else, had he posted more then a sentence maybe a link to the rules or copied the rule here or something it would have seemed a little less 'attacking'

I would encourage you to spend a significant
amount of time reading some of the threads.
If there is one subject that interests you more
than others, by all means, dig in. You will find
some very interesting cue/case collections in
the Cue and Case Gallery. Many of the higher
end collectors choose this as a way to share
their collections with everyone. There are a
lot of subjects that cover A-Z in the Main
Forum as well. But, like I said spend some time
reading, and you will figure out rather quickly
who's who, and what's what. Again, welcome...

The only dumb questions here are the ones you don't ask. As with any community, there are posted rules as well as unspoken ones. There are plenty of people here to talk to, learn from and even argue with. Anywhere that opinions and personalities collide can be both fun as well as frustrating. We should all be more helpful and less critical, but just remember that noone knows everything. I wish you the best of luck, and hope you find this billiards community atleast helpful and informative.
