Kickin Chicken,

I watch the video of my friend and sparing partner Jim T. and Bobby H. play a few racks of One Hole and enjoyed the battle. Both players had a few ups and downs but over all they both played well. I also listened to the commentary with Billy Anderson and I began wondering if this B. A. is the same B. A. who once lived in the MD. area in the early 90s.
He too was nick named Hillbilly Billy and was a very straight shooter though at that time he wasn't all that familiar with One Pocket. If this is indeed the same fellow his understanding of the game has certainly picked up. Thank you for the stream.

Please get back to me and satisfy my curiosity.

Cheers,

Tom

Hey Tom;

Yes Sir, the Billy who was commentating with me was indeed Hillbilly Billy Anderson formerly from MD. In fact he goes down there a couple times a year to visit family and he picks up some crab cakes from his cousins crab shack for some of us lucky CT buddies.

Billy is one of the absolute nicest people in the pool world and, yes, he now has a high gear 1p game. I was gonna put him in the box next with Jim but we ran out of time.

I'm gonna see Hilbilly tomorrow and I'll mention your comment. Would Billy know you?

best,
brian kc

Thank you very much for getting back to me so quickly, Brian. And yes, I would imagine Billy would remember me, and I remember him, as you say, as one of the nicest guys in the pool world. I always had a great deal of respect for Billy.
You may remind him that in 1993 New Carrolton, MD. Strawberry Brooks held the second of his two International One Pocket Championships. He and I played a match in the second round which I eventually won, but let me tell you, I have always considered that match to have been the toughest of the tournament. He shot lights out. Showed no fear and ran balls like a pro. I won that event beating the likes of Grady Mathews, Johnny Ervolino, Cliff Joyner in the semis, and Jose Parica in the final. With all that talent I still feel Billy A. gave me the most difficulties. Hats off to Billy! I hope all is well with him and his.
Enjoy those crab cakes! Best in the world!

Cheers,

Tom
