New idea A Teaching DVD for the young

Hey Robin,

great idea, if you need any help let me know, im willing to do it with you if you wish.

Lee

My goal is to introduce the sport to a new generation...at the very intro level. So I'm thinking I can do the teaching so that it will be a Mom/Son which I think can be catchy for outside our industry.
I talked to Drake he is thinking who can produce/direct so it can be a Fun Show as well as a great DVD on learning how to play pool.
That being said, I also think it will be great for the young adults...so I don't want it to be just for kids...Drake's fans are all ages now.

When your doing the jump shot and it hurts in your shoulder STOP your doing it wrong. Boy do I remember my first year teaching the jump shot I use to show the player what he was doing wrong with his shoulder it threw mine out.
Just lean over....DONT raise your shoulder...when you lean over your cue can be raised up...but NOT with your shoulder...that just locks up the shot and it HURTS ;)

Now that's funny.

I like your idea of teaching youth how to play pool, but if they don't have a place to play after your intructions/and DVD, it will all be in vain I am afraid.

btw, I have instructed my teenage daughter for about 10 hours - she was never that really interested because of 'boys' you know. Now when she plays at peoples' houses and spanks them all they think she is some kind of pool hustler. Lately, she brought her boyfriend up from NC to my house and her boyfriend was talking about how good he was at pool. He was very quite after I beat him playing blindfolded, and then when my daughter beat him he shrunk to about an inch tall. If I had boys, now that would have been a different story.

This is a fantastic idea for multiple reasons. I have been looking for good ideas on how to teach my young girls to play who constantly want to play with me (I have 7,4 and ,3 yr old girls. I'd love to have something that gave some direction on how to initially teach and progress them. Right now they just get A basic idea of cue grip, bridge, and stroke.

I also think its a good idea from a standpoint of
Your son being in it. That should help get kids to watch it. I'd love to see the age groups covered have a range from children to teenagers. Good luck.

So my son Drake has the pool bug BAD!!! Long story short, Drake has one of my cues, Jerry McWorter refinished it for me so I gave it to Drake and he LOVES it!!! He has had 2 lessons...and just can't seem to pull himself away from the pool room!!! He is taking pictures of shots at the table and sending it to me...asking which pocket he should shoot the ball in! :)
I haven't heard from him this much in 10 years as I have in the last 3 weeks :)
I of course love it, things have slowed down for a little while for him, he is doing a movie in Vancouver then I think he has a window...he might have time to be my student for a teaching DVD for kids?
I would love to revive our sport Drake might be the ticket.
I'm waiting to hear from him (course he was out late playing pool and well it is early) :)
I would like to get a Pool Table Company on board who likes the idea and wants to do a promotion....any ideas?
This is me with 2 cups of coffee behind my belt :)
And if your wondering....he's a natural....he looks just like me...but with no information :) he has to practice...YUP for the rest of his life...what can I say its in his genes :)

Got a message from Drake last night...he was in the pool room..not sure how...but his cue fell...and the ferrule and the tip are History...he is so bummed...but he has "an idea", for a cue holder...so my kid!!!
