Hello fellow shooters, my name is Michael and I am new to this forum. I figured I would kill two birds with one stone by briefly introducing myself and provide a few pics of my arsenal.
I am 38 years old (male). I have been playing pool since I was tall enough to see the table. My parents had a 7 foot Brunswick in the basement and it took a stool for me to play before I was tall enough. While my father shot some pool, it was uncles who played much more and I was fortunate enough to learn from them. I actually honed my game playing quite a bit on a 10 foot snooker table which my uncle owned. It didn't take long before my large, immediate and extended Irish Catholic family, would line up to donate on Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings.
The Achilles' heel in my game right now is an inability to make longer shots which I can attribute to not staying down on the ball. Ironically enough, my golf game parallels my pool game. When I am on in both games I can hold my own with the best of them (amateurs). It probably helps I dress up in drag to play against women (joking)
Here are a couple of the cues I use:
-McDermott 504 (just purchased and switched the tip today from a stock Everest to a ZAN Grip Hard)
-Viking, circa 2004
Thanks for taking the time to read this. I have found a plethora of information on this site and I look forward to unearthing more. I play in 2 leagues near my home (partner & solo), so I am looking forward to honing my game a bit more and hopefully learn more about the custom cue market. Frankly, I had no idea there are so many "artists" involved in making cues by hand.
