New Membership Exclusivity

or1pkt.....received P90X training for Xmas from my son as a present.......it was returned the day after.....I'll stick with walking 8-10 miles a day playing pool.

And a opinion post by a Gold Member isn't any more important or valid that one expressed by a non-paying AZ member. But Dave M. is absolutely right
when he stated that Gold Members contribute more to the AZ Forum than silver or bronze members.....that's just the facts of life.

If it comes down to a philosophy of frugality, and not a matter of affordability, then I say "Bullshit".......Buddy, I know you blew 10 cents yesterday, even today,
and probably tomorrow as well........you can easily afford a Gold Membership but choose not to participate for your own reasons......so be it.......but thank God
some Azers are really interested in seeing the AZ website grow & improve and show their appreciation and support with a paid Gold Membership.

I never said it came down to anything concerning money, you want to make it seem like it's a financial decision and no I am not your Buddy. I do what I want when I want and how I want but I am not your Buddy.. I am happy that your a gold member FWIW Buddy.

Really. I would be, and am sure that others here would be as well, to hear your opinion or how you came upon this Epiphany.

There was a recent post from a Silver member, that stated that he supports AZB by making purchases from companies that buy Banner Ads from AZ.

That is one good way and if that particular company knows or finds out that their advertising dollars are worth it on AZ, they will continue to purchased Ads.

That is one heck of a great way to support the web site.

I am sure there are others that do the same.

Or are you trying to weasel a free AZB Case Patch.

I already have one, it looks great on my case. Tra La.

My final thoughts on your post are that I am really, really happy you are not the 'official' spokesperson for the gold members. That would convince me to never be a gold member. You've now decided to use profanity, and childish name calling to promote your agenda. Elementary school yard tactics aren't going to convince me to join, not today or any day. Over & Out!

I never said they contribute more. Don't put words in my mouth. I said they don't contribute the same. If it weren't for silver members, then there would be no AzB. I'm ok with being a Gold member, because I can afford it and appreciate what the AzB team does for the entire AzB community.

Your word isn't gospel, so stop trying to make it so.

The Nazi tried this in the 30s & 40's, it didn't work out to well .....to have a elitist group when the majority are not part of the " Gold Club " is in my opinion not such a good idea....
 
There is a huge difference between choosing to purchase a Gold membership and supporting AZB, to alienating other members, (which Hoolio is advocating) because for their reasons, choose not to become Gold members at this time.

Who knows, maybe there are lots of Silver Members that are planning on becoming Gold, they are just going to do it on their time and not being pressured by Hoolio's tactics.

Myself, I never gave it much thought beyond having a little extra income and deciding to
support AZB.

Maybe next year, I won't, or won't feel that I am able to renew my Gold.

But it is kind of ignorant to try and use pressure tactics to coerce people into buying a Gold.

Hoolior Than Thou may not realize that a mere 30 bucks is a couple of bags of groceries for some people and others do have a Family with other priorities at this time.

If he is being so free with others money, he should break out the bank roll and start paying for others if he is bent on everyone being Gold.



I am quite sure that the owners of AZB didn't promote Fong Hoolio to the marketing exec position.

I don't want any thanks or AZ merchandise etc. for promoting Going Gold....I'd just like to see the Forum have more operating funds
which allows the owners of this site to make changes and improvements that have been brought up as suggestions by some AZers.

You don't want to financially pitch in, then stay just as you are. I'm just optimistic because there's been a few AZers that decided to
become Gold Members since these threads and posts about Gold Memberships started. Could be just a coincidence but don't think so.

The constant attempts from every direction to

-- guilt pool players into paying more money "to support the sport" and
--calling pool players who don't spend freely in every way "lowlifes and nits"

is a real turnoff.

There are plenty of happy, fun, and even productive things that I could do with my time and money without also being made to feel that it's never enough and I am not worthy. In fact, MOST activities (not pool) and businesses come from a welcoming standpoint of being grateful for its business and its members.

and i wanted to PAY IT FORWARD (like Dave M),
i should send it to a SILVER/BRONZE member?

i'm serious. this is not a slam to anyone. i joined simply because, well, it's worth $36/yr entertainment to me. plus, i trashed at least 30cents in pennies last night while rolling change, cause i HATE pennies.

(Blue Hog - when we ride & shoot, i will have no-oooo idea what happened to your patch on your case!)
