New point stock

I just received a big order of wood from Bell Forest. I am going to let the turning stock sit around for quite a while before I use it. I really want to use some of the tulipwood & bocote point stock on some forearms I already have turned down. Do I need to let the point stock aclimate to my climate just like the turning stock? Can I use the point stock right now since the forearm is aged enough or will the new point stock cause the forearm to warp.

Thanks for the input.

Thanks for the input.

You should be OK after 4-8 months. But really should allow it to hang as long as you can.

No, Those two woods will shrink. They are slow drying and take extra time. Everything you put in the cue should should get aged. Especialy Ivory!

Cut all your point stock close to size and store it. When your ready to use it square it up and install.

What I was specifically referring to was using some of the new point stock (1"x1"x12") to use in an existing forearm I already have turned down over 8 months.

Some of it is kiln dried. Is that dry enough? I do not have a moisture meter. I do know some of it is air dried and I am going to wait a long time on that stuff.
