New poll required

Well, so far we have a groveling "throw the dog a bone, even if it is meatless" open letter to KT. Then we have a cute picture of a puppy with his genitals exposed, willing to do anything for a pat on his head and his master's love.
Then along comes KT's "will you still love me tomorrow" letter, and finally an IPT player poll. Things are getting a little confusing.

In all fairness I have no doubt that JAM's poll was created in total fairness and honesty. In fact, I would give odds on that.

But after digesting the choices I can't help realize that by the nature of those choices the poll is skewed in heavy favor of #2.

#1 is obviously ridiculous. How can it continue in it's present form, obviously it can't.

#2 is like asking "would you accept a $100K gift in lieu of the $250K that I orginally promised?" Not too many people would say "no thank you".

#3 makes the most business sense, but most players are acting too desperate to take such a strong stand

#4 takes a pretty gutsy and admirable stand, it says "KT, I don't need or want anything to do with you or your dirty money"

I think that some alternative tour formats need to be included in the choices. For instance, if the imaginary $100K guarantee were to disappear, how many players would pay $2,000.00 plus travel expenses to enter a qualifier hoping to play against Earl, Keith, Reyes, and the rest of the top ten? Probably no one, they don't have a chance of winning anything worth while. After all most IPT players only won $5K - $7K after all the tournaments combined.

Simply stated, the tour as it was iniatially proposed cannot and will not continue, that is proven. Before a potential IPT player can determine what he will do in the future he needs to know "the deal", which totally depends on what KT has in mind. The poll is meaningless.

FYI, if I was eligible to vote, I would have voted #4, I think anything associated with KT is contaminated beyond repair.

Rather than confusing, I find it very revealing; that is, the letter from KT, not the puppy picture. The puppy picture for me ruined the thread because of its size. It made my reading experience uncomfortable because the .jpeg file made the SUBJECT MATTER screen too large, forcing one to scroll from left to right to read all of the posts in their entirety.

Why I say the KT's letter is revealing is this. The letter was sent to IPT members immediately after posts were made on this forum about COMMUNICATION; hence, the puppy picture asking for a little bone.

Coincidence? I don't know, but the timing of the recent Kevin Trudeau letter came immediately after that thread was initiated by Tammie Jones.

Thanks, and you're correct! I did try to initiate a poll, but my reasons were multi-faceted. Actually, in a 24-hour period, the poll has already started to prove my point.

Right from the get-go, the only form of getting the message out there about a brand-new IPT was via the Internet or word of mouth from those who use the Internet. This is why some pool players who could be considered "deserving" to be an IPT member initially were excluded, American great players like Danny Harriman, Dave Matlock, James Walden, et cetera. Communication via the Internet and word of mouth just doesn't cut the mustard, IMHO.

I would even go so far as to say anyone who wasn't an AzBilliards member or did not know an AzBilliards member was not cognizant of an IPT until after the initial 150 members were selected.

When the only form of communicating with the IPT is via the Internet and e-mails take 2 and 3 weeks to get answered or, in the alternative, are not responded to at all, it does create confusion, much like my poll.

In fact, somebody acquired every IPT member's e-mail address -- that is, the IPT members who had an e-mail address -- and started a group e-mail about getting paid for Reno. One IPT member had very strong views about getting paid, and nothing else would suffice unless he got paid. He made his opinion known by replying to an e-mail which had a differing opinion than his.

Ironically, several days later, this same IPT member did a complete flip-flop and posted on this AzBilliards IPT forum with quite a different opinion, one which he disagreed with vehemently several days earlier, which shocked the hell out of me.

I guess some IPT members are conflicted about their feelings. It is a compound fracture. As Ronnie Wiseman would say, "Everything's funny when you're winning big money," but when the big monies aren't paid, it ain't so funny anymore!

My point is this. As you can see, the poll I initiated hasn't had very many replies from IPT members AND IPT players. I had invited IPT members and those who competed in IPT qualifiers and/or tournaments to respond. I think those who did compete in the qualifiers and tournaments who are not IPT members have a stake in this matter also.

I did not interpret your post as being mean-spirited, Jim. I appreciate your contributions to this forum which are always respectful and very informative.

In essence, Jim, you have proved my point. When 2 weeks transpire, you will see the results of the poll. In fact, there will be MANY IPT members and IPT players whose votes will be missing. Communicating via the Internet causes confusion and misunderstandings.
