Korr : 1380
Webb: 990
Kelly Fisher: 930
Ga Young: 840
Vivian: 650
Lee: 620

Thank you for that sjm. I thought the points had changed and they forgot to change the date, but wasn't sure. Johnnytsjm said:You are mistaken. As I keep a rankings spreadsheet of my own, shown below for the Top 3 only, I can verify that the points shown on the WPBA site include Peoria, although the date and tournament through which the points are updated were not corrected. A players ranking is based on the last ten WPBA rankings events, each of them shown. As you will see, the rankings reported on WPBA.com are correct for the Top 3.
As for your ludicrous comment "surely you don't expect them to be as efficient as the IPT now do you?", my suggestion is that next time you take a cheap shot at a pool orgnization, you steer clear of the only organization in our sport that has stood the test of time. The WPBA is now 30 years old and is still going strong because of good management.
Perhaps one day the IPT will be as praiseworthy as the WPBA. I hope so. Until then, go pick on some other organization in pool.

jjinfla said:Okay, I used my spreadsheet that had faulty figures from the Riviera stop. It should be correct now.
Are you always that sensitive SJM?
Face it though, if the women start winning in IPT tournaments they will leave the WPBA in a heartbeat.

sjm said:Actually, Jake, I admire you for your optimism about the IPT and share your enthusiasm. I attended the event in Vegas, and greatly admired the IPT's production values and hope that the IPT will bring our sport into a new, and more prosperous era. I have every intention of supporting the IPT to the fullest.
Still, I am very sensitive when it comes to premature claims that the IPT has already found a better business model than all the pool organizations of the past and present.
Just one organization in our sport --- the WPBA --- has found a business model that held up over the long haul. When there is a second, let me know. I do agree with you, however, that if the IPT business model is successful, women capable of earnng a greater income form the IPT than from the WPBA will defect.
Our views are not far apart here, Jake, but the WPBA has been a towering presence in our sport for a long time, and deserves our fullest respect as an organization.

Are you all really that dense that you can't see a tongue in cheek saying when you see one?
From my past posts you should all know that I have praised the WPBA for their accomplishments and I was just tweaking them for being a bit slow with their website update.
The WPBA does not have the $70-$100K to hire someone to be dedicated to the website as the IPT does so it really is amazing that they do as good a job as they do.
Are the prize winnings listed alongside the rankings the winnings from just WPBA stops? Or is that total winnings of the player from all tournaments they enter. Do they add the IPT winnings in their totals?
