Just heard about this place, anybody been there, thoughts?
If thats what a pool hall needs to charge these days to make it profitable no wonder you don’t see many.. no way people would pay that in a small town like mine. I never understood why it mattered how many people are playing at a table so you have to charge more. But I guess if your all playing a cut its $10 an hour.Ok, but...

They do have leagues, but unless they have discounts, that's too expensive for most. The ten dollar bump from 3 to 4 doesn't make sense to me.
Four people using a bowling lane - nobody would ever question why they each pay, and pay for each game - you don't just rent lane 7. One way or another you have to be compensated for the rent of the table - it's going to have to account for (one way or another) the number of people making use of it, otherwise you're giving away free pool and not capturing needed revenue. If thats what a pool hall needs to charge these days to make it profitable no wonder you don’t see many.. no way people would pay that in a small town like mine. True. But in my area when we had pool halls it was just a flat rate for the table. They didn’t care how many played lolFour people using a bowling lane - nobody would ever question why they each pay, and pay for each game - you don't just rent lane 7. No doubt and it's done, and simpler that way, but if using a flat rate, that rate takes into account how many customers on average they expect or need to use it. But they definitely care how many people want to use the tables.True. But in my area when we had pool halls it was just a flat rate for the table. They didn’t care how many played lol
Yeah but you gotta go to Fresno first.Sierra Billiards & Bar is a huge hit. There’s a waiting list for tables and often just to get in the doors Fri & Sat night.
It has the largest assortment of top brand liquors anywhere I’ve seen including the Beverly Hilton Hotel in LA. It is a sight to behold and 1/2 of the pool room is 7’ Diamond pool tables and the othe 1/2 is 9’ Diamind pool tables.
The room opened in April 2023 and has done so well that a 2nd location in Fresno is scheduled to open April 2026.
The owners have found a successful recipe that works. I was the first person to sign up for membership and I am so
glad I did. It is an upscale pool room that is as good as it gets for pool table equipment & friendly owners and staff.
If you are ever in Fresno, you really should visit Sierra Billiards. If you ever wanted to find me, ask the staff for Matt.
Great room! How does the membership work?I was the first person to sign up for membership and I am so

I used to like him. But at the Derby City Classic last year that changed.SVB is not GOAT !! While he may be in the top 10...
Hey…..I understand …….especially when summer temps can reach 115 degrees.Yeah but you gotta go to Fresno first.Just jackin with ya. Place looks awesome.
Annual and monthly…….unlimited pool til 6 pm……until 7 pm if there’s no league or patrons waiting.
Was not that many gold crowns and was located in Concord, CA not SF. And what do you mean private rooms, given all the tables were in one big room? Plus this one was well established in the mid to late 80s. The Great Entertainer is still open today in San Mateo, CA.A similar place opened in SF during the early to mid 90's following the Color of Money boom called The Great Entertainer. It too had great food (a complete sit down restaurant a beautiful bar featuring all kinds of beers and spirits). This room was big with private rooms with pools tables and glass doors, a main floor with around 45 Gold Crowns, two snooker table and a billiard table. It had a full schedule of USPPA and NPL tournaments and leagues during the week (in fact I played in one of Bob and Gene's NPL tournaments). It also had a parking lot, but it too could not defy the laws of economic gravity and had to close in just short time. We'll see what happens with this new place,,
That's not the room he's talking about. One of the Great Entertainer chain of pool halls was in downtown San Francisco (a few blocks from 5th and Mission, but I don't remember exactly where). It had at least two private rooms, with one or two tables in each room. It was not far from the SF Chalkers. I remember a snooker championship being held there. Was not that many gold crowns and was located in Concord, CA not SF. And what do you mean private rooms, given all the tables were in one big room? No.so he moved to a different table in another room because your friend had trouble breathing? so he thought that would help him?
Inputting his fargo rating then and SVB's fargo rating now gives an 8.8% chance to win a single game and a 0.037% chance to win a race to 9 (9-ball).did your friend have any chance at all of winning in any case.
There are escalators up and down to the second floor so not an issue.maybe he moved so your friend didn't have to walk upstairs.
