New Room in San Francisco's Mission district called 'The Hall'

invested money's return rate, and the owners time profit(wage) rate decide if any business makes it or not.

if 100 people pay 10 dollars to watch something and it costs 1200 to put it on they are then on the way to going broke.
unless they are good enough to turn those 100 to regular customers. and that is the big *if*.

there are many or even most smaller businesses that have their life savings invested and making only 50,000 a year.

Wow, everybody here who's talking 💩 about SF and a new pool hall... you guys are a bunch of ninnies. Where's the love and support for the growth of our sport?? I used to work down army, I mean Ceasar Chavez... that area had blown up since the new stadium.

I always played at palacade billiards on Geneva and mission. Parking sucked but it was a great place in an old theater. Still is. San Francisco is a changed town, but at least pool is still alive. I heard Family billiards is set to close in the future which is awful, but at least there's something new.

Most yuppies aren't going to an old school place like palacade, and Family is a bit on the serious side for the real players. It can be intimidating. This new venue looks like it will appeal to the up market techie crowd, which hey, they got money to spend and they want a fun place to be. I get it. Pool regulars are generally cheap basterds, so it makes sense to me to go upscale. I hope they stay open long enough for me to visit next time I'm in town. I just missed them as I was there last month.

I prefer the older establishments like the Jointed Cue, but that vibe is not for everyone. Sometimes it takes a shiny new place to attract paying customers. Glad they got SVB down to play.

Now stop being a bunch of nits, and go support your local pool hall!
