New Showman, nearly ready............

Thanks guys, there seems to be a sway towards the bottom right leather which is what I thought was best. Although, Murray Tucker's suggestion has me intrigued. Murray, I appreciate the offer, if you speak to John or Marylane this week, ask them to send me a couple of photos of your (leather?) samples.

either that or supper pressed white with green spec irish. it would tie the green in the abalone and veneers together through the entie cue.

I couldn't agree more. White/light green speck would probably work and tie in real nice with the green veneer and abalone accents. None of the leathers shown really do it for me....if I had to pick one, bottom right. Would bet that a tan with brown/black speck cork wrap might look nice, too.

Yeah I know what you are saying Sean but the cue is there to be used and if I am going to use it, it has to be leather or lizard!

No doubt in my mind, I think the bottom right is the perfect choice.

Great looking cue, Congrats! What type of joint does Showman typically use? I also vote for the bottom right.
 
Very nice traditional design Si, the woods, veneers and inlays all come together to make a great looking cue. I'm not convinced on the choice of leather wraps though, sometimes seeing the combination in person makes all the difference. I recently went through the same situation with Dennis Searing, trying to choose a leather wrap from pictures of pieces of leather laying over my cue. In the end I left it up to Dennis and the wrap matches the cue perfectly.

5/16 14 Piloted steel joint or Piloted ivory joint
 
Mr Murray Tucker was kind enough to send a leather sample to John Showman which he promptly received the next day. Kudos to Mr Tucker for this...and why......just check out dis picture and dis leather, my brothers!!! Is there a nicer looking leather wrap on earth? Cause I haven't seen it!

I would have it wrapped in white linen with green specs.

Beautiful Showman, since you have raised the question about wraps, I would go for the white/green linen. Either way it's a beauty.
