New Skip Weston

Seller should be happy....this cue sold for more than it did the last time.

Sean,

Maybe the seller is happy, but if I am SKip I wouldn't be. Brand new cue, a "dealer" is letting go for 25% off retail. More than that if you use the sellers inflated number.

In my honest opinion though, I think (know) its more the a design issue than anything else. Had this been a 4 point cue, traditional I think it would have gone for more, maybe even more than retail. For 1200 you could have a 4 point traditional cue with an ivory bushka ring above the wrap, hoppe ring and ivory ferrules, and have zero problem selling it. Which is a STEAL at that price in comparison to some other makers numbers.

Joe - I totally agree with you, and that is one of the reasons that I have not listed a Skip that I have for sale here on fleabay. I think that the seller of the cue in question here really has no clue when it comes to cues. I'm kind of hoping that Skip pokes the guy a little bit.

Q: What kind of tips and ferrules?

A: The ferrules are the best ferrules that Skip uses. They have this exciting name but I can't for the life of me remember what it was. Just know that when Skip makes a tournament cue, he does not cut any corners. Period. Same with the tips. They are highest quality medium soft leather for exceptional feel, better grab on the cueball and less miscues and also enabling the shooter to move the English strike zone towards the middle of the cueball and still achieve the same English. Again, all about reducing risk of error. The tip probably needs changing yearly if you are a frequent shooter or prior to a major tourney.

What kind of crap response is that?!?

I contacted the seller on the auction in this thread, and he offered to ship it to me COD for $800.00. Obviously he broke his word, and when I emailed him again, he wanted to know why my email address is "felonyflight".

Upon referring to my less than steller past, this idiot had the total lack of common sense to explain to me that he recently spent 3 days in his county jail as his X-wife hit him with some DV charge, and while in the county, some inmate punked him (my words for this family forum, he actually told me how he got punked).

I liked that cue, but what I know about where it has been sickens me:mad:

Still waiting for paypal to finish their investigation. They say if he doesn't respond by th 28th then they will take care of it. He actually stalled them as the original deadline was the 24th. Don't really see the problem. He put in my feedback that he refunded the money in full through paypal. All they have to do is look at my account and see its BS, end of story. I don't think I'll go hungry, but I could get a couple of new shafts for my Mottey, I just pick up, with that cash.
