New Table breaking in

Hi,
I have just got a new table installed in my new house today.

It is a WirAka 7ft bar box table, with simonis 860 cloth. I am finding the balls are skidding off the cushions a bit and is a little all over the place. Cushions are k55 if it helps.

Is this normal with a new table? If so, how long until it is expected to break in and run a bit truer off the cushions?

The table is fine. Its the new Simonis that needs broken in. The break in period will just depend on how much it gets played on. If you have new Simonis cloth and new balls the affect is even worse. Just keep playing and that slide will disappear.

soon after i got my gc`s with simonis i got a small tear in the cloth quick, no abusive stroking, that i was aware of anyways,
but it was strange, then nothing else happened, it held up fine after that

Bwhahahah

I CERTAINLY would NEVER use simonis this guys an attention whore
And we're giving it to him good

Not to feed the trolling, but... actually, I also would NEVER buy Simonis.

There are 2 better alternatives:
- Z9 (German): very similar to Simonis as far as ingredients go, but more durable and consistent. http://www.z9billiardcloth.com/
- Royal Pro (Greek): No wool, so no inconsistencies over temperature and moisture. Only downside is that it's faster which sometimes is not what you want.

Am speaking due to first hand experience, also with Simonis, heated tables and changing weather...

EDIT: As for the topic - it's normal, but it will take several weeks of regular playing. It's not only the chalk but "wear" of the cloth.
Meanwhile enjoy the time where you can have huge draw shots with ease ;)

Cheers,
M

Some like that slide that new cloth has. Nothing wrong with your table. As you use it that slide will wear off from the chalk that starts to adhere to it.

Balls will also slide a little after you clean and polish them. Think of how the finish on your car feels after waxing or polishing it.

It is the same as a road or race track where the grip changes as it is used.
