New table!

I'm pretty excited that I've finally got my new table up and playing.

Two reasons -

1) My wife and I built a garage and added a games room ontop so its been a while to get the garage and room finished. The garage is a 24x24 double and the entire upstairs is our games room/

2) There's no pool hall in town and I've missed playing pool a lot since I've moved to NS. 7months without pool isn't fun when you are used to 3-4days a week.

Preliminary pictures since I haven't taken any others since the table only went in yesterday.

Brunswick Metro Tournamen Edition 4.5x9 table with their upgraded cloth (not simonis). Runs pretty quick IMO, I like it.

Pockets reasonably tight "out of the box" no shimming just a hair under 4.5" which is just fine by me.

My friend measured his Brunswick and his are about 5" so this is a noticable improvement IMO.

Wife and i playing our first game (excuse the styrofoam bits everywhere, I didnt vacuum before we played)!

On the other side of the room will be our 50" plasma tv a couch and loveseat along with the stereo, since none of that side is in place I didn't take pictures of it.

I got to play 20racks or so yesterday and the pockets got me a few times trying to cheat them too much or hitting long rail shots too hard. I can forsee this making my game a lot better with more table time. I did manage a break and run in the first day so that made me pretty happy with the new to me pockets.

All in all I'm super excited to have it up and running! I just had to share.

Nice table. You're fortunate that you have such a large room to house it in. Good luck with it and keep on enjoying playing on it. Thanks for sharing.

Corner pockets are a little over 4 1/2" measured between the points of the corner pockets. 2 balls wide is 4 1/2", and would set just half way into the pocket, yours are setting in more than half way, but nice looking table:D

Congratulations

on your new table and upstairs game room.

Did you have to design in additional structual strength to support the table above the garage? If so, only for the table location area or for the entire second story?

Is there heat and A/C in the game room?

Congratulations.

Your knowledge is greater than my tape measure reading ;)

As soon as I saw your username I knew there would be something worth reading for sure.

As for structural info the floor joists are 16" on center 2x10's with engineered main beam which runs left to right under the middle of the room. 1" subfloor plus my flooring. Otherwise no extra blocking or fancy work done. Heating is just two electric baseboard heaters and is lots of heat for the room. No AC currently, we don't get a ton of heat/humidity here, but when in doubt I have a friend who sells ductless mini-split systems if i do need it. I do have a ceiling fan which will help for the moderate summers we have. I'm very pleased with the spray foam on the ceiling of the garage (room's floor) as the floor stays warm considering there is no heat source in the garage below which would normally lead to a very cold floor.

So far in the few days I've gotta say its awesome. I haven't played a "lot" but its nice to come home and shoot 10 racks or whatever and then come into the house and know I won't wake our son (22months old). Family first, hobby's second.

Looks like it's going to be a great room. Congratulations!!!

My wife and I are finalizing the design of our new billiards room. I've wanted one for years and now we are close to making that dream a reality.

I hope you enjoy your new room. May it bring you a lifetime of happiness shared with family and friends.
