Some people have patience... So they are patients.... Isn't it?
Those who can have the most patience have the money in their pockets. Understand what you want ;)

There is no doubt in my mind that Bassel builds good quality stuff. I feel the real problems start when buyers get their lathes and are pretty much on their own when it comes to figuring out how to use them. Some things in repairing cues are confusing to the novice, at first. They just need a little push-start.

I didn't have issues with mine because I had extensive experience with another brand of repair lathe. I truly believe that with the right instructions most users won't have problems. If a good detailed video, and perhaps a book too, were part of the package explaining the proper way of setting up and using the machine, along with how to adjust and maintain it, the operation of his lathes would be crystal clear. All IMO, of course.

My own experience in dealing with Bassel has been flawless. I couldn't have expected more. At no cost to me he has voluntarily sent a few upgraded items that weren't available when I bought my machine, although I offered payment when I inquired. As far as I'm concerned it just doesn't get any better than that.

I think the term patient is American.

You have to be PATIENT at a doctors office, because you wait forever.

You have to be PATIENT at the post office, because.....

You have to be PATIENT at the DMV, because.....

If an American loses their PATIENCE, they are said to go POSTAL.

I would love a job that sends me to Amsterdam...and dont pop a random test when I get back..lol

Amsterdam is NOT like that ... at least not when I lived there 1997 for over a year on a project.

They have "tolerance" that WE Americans can learn a lot from, IMHO.

Locals/Dutch I met through work were typical people who worked hard (8 hrs a day) and then went home to their family.

Now I'm in Singapore ... the other extreme ... where "sin" taxes are extremely high to discourage use ... cigs are over $10/pack and not allowed to be brought in ($200 per pack fine - that's pack not a carton), alcohol is extremely expensive ($100 for a bottle of Jack), and illegal drug usage are severely punished.

Both system seems to work :D
