Hey guys... gals
Our State Championships are coming up soon and they are now banning the use of phenolic tips for breaking. What's the best alternative that players are switching to???

I started a poll on this a couple of days ago and it seemed as if many people prefer Samsara's layered break tip over anything else. I actually got to break with one lastnight and can attest to the fact that it is a VERY hard tip, so hard in fact that the only noticeable difference is that the tip holds chalk better than a phenollic would and there's a slightly different feel to it. Other than that, a lot of people like the Water Buffalo tips as well, though I haven't gotten a chance to break with one of those.

ob break cue uses samsara layered tip and it hits fantastic.got the power break and cue ball control!i think it is the best replacement for phenolic tip

I agree with Jay. I just bought an OB Break Shaft that I put on a back heavy sneaky pete butt. AWESOME. The Samsara tip is hard but you have tons of control. Check it out.

i dropped my shaft off tonight to have a water buffalo tip put on. ill let you now how it is
