Howdy All;

I have been reading the book "Banking with the Beard" and ran across the phrase
"Passover Banks". Have tried looking at different glossaries but can not find it or it's true meaning. Anyone care to enlighten me??? Thanks for the help.

Passover Banks? Maybe they only go if it's kosher.

I believe this is a bank where the cue ball goes over the line (or passes over) that the object takes when it comes off the rail. I don't have the book anymore so I can't reference it to be sure.

My guess without reading the book, just based off of the wording would be a bank shot that the cue ball has to cross through the object ball line on its way to the pocket as in passing over the ball. Just a guess though

It probably means a bank during which the cue ball crosses the line that the object ball will take. :D

I've always known them as cross banks.
A cross bank banks a bit long, 'cause the object ball will have some running english.

Thanks for the serious thoughts, they kinda match up with the diagrams enough that
I can feel comfortable enough to 'bank' on it. ( ;) pun intended)

I'd guess it's the same as what one would call a crossover bank.

Crossover bank would induce running english on the object ball, and a back cut bank would induce hold up.
