I know many of you may have this or know about it but I found an excellent tool at Brianna Billiards called a sanding Arbor. It has a pin at one end and a tapped thread at the other with a perfect .85 inch diameter. It makes matching the butt to the shaft an absolute dream (plus if a customer orders another shaft you dont need his because you KNOW its a perfect .85 inch). Anyhow I know many of you may have made this tool but I thought it was a brilliant (something no-one has ever accused me of :-). They are a bit pricey at 46 bucks but I feel its worth it). My 2 cents.

Run, I built my first set of sanding many years ago. Can't really remember when.
Hardened steel will ware out fast. You need them to be at the proper angle so you won't develpoe a small dip in either the shaft or the butt.
I have been bulding these for many years. I stopped building them for a few years, and left it to Mike Webb and a few others. I went back to building them a couple yrs back. Mike turned me on to a new sourse.

I build them at the proper angle for a smooth fit for the shaft and butts. No dips just before the joints end, because of being straight, and or to short..

Give me a call and or e-mail me if your interested? Normally my sets, [1 for the shaft and 1 for the butt] sells for $425.00, made of c-4 carbide, which are 1" long. Some guys make then a 1/4" long. These wear out fairly fast if used often.

Mine, being 1" long, they last and make a good tranformation from the carbide to the joints. And they will be made to fit the joint size "YOU" choose.

Tooling made by a cuemaker for a cuemaker.
