Howzit Guys,
New topic since there's only 3 active subjects here now..
There is a thread on AZ forums now and didn't want to mention on his post 'cause I don't want to "Spoil his action" and really not my buisness to do so.. and I have nothing against that person or their post.. Just a example of what I'm trying to ask you Guys and what I might go thru..

If I sell a Buska Ring Cue cap and say it matches the cue, but, if one looks good, the spacing of the white part is thicker or thinner that the cue's Buska Ring.. Am I still correct to say it "matches" or because they are not exactly, they are not "Matching"..
Is that Matching because they are still both considered "Buska Rings".

REMEMBER, I am speaking for myself and not refering to anyone elses action.. I don't want trouble!!!

I dunno but the caps I'm making now for a customer has the same exact measurement of rings with his cue.
1/2 thick collar, 30 thou trims, 15 thou brass and 45 thou white middle.
On all three pieces.
Within +-1 though. It's my own design. IF one of the whites was off by 5 thou, it'd be really noticeable.
The best j/p's made by a maker I've seen are Prewitts and they match perfectly.
Matching to me is a mirror image of what's in the cue. my 2 cents

I would probably call them "complementing" rather than "matching".

Good Point Guys

That's what I wanted to hear..
Thanks Joey & Martin.
From a Professional Point of view (Professional in this case, meaning we sell the items as a Business) we might have to be specific, avoiding liability.
Which is the possiblity of being returned and having to refund..
Like Joey says, Matching is Mirror image and Martin's "Complementing" if slighty different.. I do agree on that logic.
And, if all or most cuemakers agree.. that is the terminology we (We???... Sounds like I up graded myself to CueMaker Status;) .)
should all abide by and accept..
Any more options?? Please advise, but, it sounds like Joey and Martin "wrapped it up in a Nut Shell".. Thanks all
I go thru this a lot because I deal mostly with trying to match an existing design.. Which is harder to do.. I'd rather be the first guy than the 2nd guy trying to match the first guy.. :D
