For some welcome news its seems Tony Crosby is starting a tour of open and amateur events in florida. This is gonna be great!!!!!

Tony is a great guy and as honest as anyone so you know the money will always be right unlike a lot of the other regional tours where if you add up the monies it always seems short.......

I hope Tony doesnt mind me sharing this but i thought it was useful and considering all the negativity concerning tourneys lately, its nice to share some good news

That's exciting news. There are enough rooms within 100 miles of Tampa to have a Tour, if all the rooms participated on a revolving schedule.

there are plenty of pool halls in the area to support it.........i only play open events anyway
 
Sounds like I need to move that way in the near future for tourns and stuff. That would be nice.
 
About time somebody else started a tour, too many people in this area not to have more events!

yea its so true, that was my point on the other threads concerning amateur events.........
the 1st event is coming soon and i know ill be there

Out of curiosity... would this tour be sticking to the areas that the other tours already cover? (mostly Central and North Florida) Or will it cover the South too?

i will ask tony, but i think initially it would be within 50 or 100 miles of the tampa area

Do you have any info on the format, 9ball,10ball, is it one day or two day events? And what kind of entries, and money added is it going to be? And the biggest question is, when and where is it gonna start?

You are right, Tony is a very hard worker and as honest as they come. I will support ANYTHING that Tony decides to do. He has a great reputation with all the top pros and just a great guy. He will do the very best he can with this tour and I am sure that it will work out great for everyone involved. Tony is also all about the good of the sport in general and will do what it takes to help the sport and its players. This is great news.

it will be 9 ball with an open and amateur event
right around 1000 added for open and 500-600 for amateur
and all the money will be accounted for
theres really no excuse not to get huge turnouts for these tournaments

Yes This is true and is somthing that has been in the works for almost a year. The events will be open and Amateur $1000 Added open and $600 added Amateur.
I think the tour is going to be a huge hit for both player and room owner.
I already ahve 6 rooms maybe 7 in place with dates and the first one will kick of at the end of september 27th-28th. The big thing I would like to do is have the Junior players turn up and have a good time. I am trying to work on the best way top do that.

I hope to be able to play in a few of these events. If you run the amateur events on Saturday you will get more players who will travel to come play. The Sunday events are tough for people 4 hrs away to come play in if they have to work on Monday.

My situation is vice versa, I can only play Sunday only events, as a bartender it is impossible to take off a Saturday! Either way best of luck with the tour, I do hope it is on Sunday's though so I can play!
