In a couple of big local tournaments here in Taiwan I saw these set of pool balls. I was wondering if its an official tournament set pool balls and if its an aramith?

Whatever brand the balls are, have the set spray painted......the colors are just awful.............girly light blue color, putrid green, awful purple, more tangerine than orange color....really poor choice, horrible yellow color.....OMG....this set really sucks a big one.....the only balls that are decent are the blue 2 ball, red 3 ball, and the 8 ball.
And throw that piece of shit logo cue ball in the trash......like I want to look at an eye looking back at me.....is this cartoon pool???? Come on now.....get real.
Aramith makes several versions much more appealing than the Cyclop design and the Brunswick Centennial set embarrasses the look of the Cyclop set. I mean there's no comparison......None......Nada, Zilch, Zippo.....the Cyclop set looks like a cheap set and the design and colors are inferior to the better Aramith versions available and don't even bring up any comparison with Brunswick Centennial pool balls made by Aramith......it's just stupid to even attempt to do that........DUH?

Funny how people form an opinion without first hand knowledge. I think there is a term for this: ignorance. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say this guy has only seen these balls on his computer screen and has never played with them.
I own a set of Cyclop Balls (as pictured in the OP), Aramith Super Pro TV Set and Brunswick Centennials. I've been playing with the Cyclop set for the past couple of months and they are a FINE set of balls. I switched over to my Aramiths a couple days ago and IMO, the Cyclop Balls are better. After a few racks, the Aramiths were dirty and had pocket marks on them already. Same goes with the Centennials. The Cyclop Balls skid much, much less than the Aramiths and Centennials and stay cleaner waaaaay longer. The skidding was very noticeable when playing with my Aramith set. I had to switch back to the Cyclop set after a couple of days; the difference to me was that noticeable.
As for the colors, that is totally subjective. I like the color palate. For those that don't, they offer a set in traditional colors:
My only gripe with the traditional color set is they changed the font. I like the font on the other set better; totally subjective.
At the end of the day, the Cyclop Balls are a very high quality phenolic ball. IMO, they play better than Aramiths and Centennials.

What's ugly about them? The colors? As he just stated (and posted a picture of), they offer them in standard colors as well. The alternate color palate for making them more easily discernible on TV, much like the TV version of Aramith. Do you think Aramith balls are all ugly because they offer a TV version?

The stripes on the Cyclop Balls are a hair narrower than those on the Super Pros but definitely wider than those on Centennials.
Cyclop Balls
In my opinion I think there the best balls on the market they feel and roll true with a good reaction to them. They don't get as dirty as my Aramith super pro's and Brunswick Centennials. I guess the extra precent of phenolic resin makes the difference. I'm very happy with them.

I Sold My Set of Cyclop Pool Balls (Never Even Used Them)
I've played with Cyclop pool balls before and I didn't see any difference in play over my Centennial pool balls.
In my opinion, I'd rather play with an Aramith Super Pro set instead of Cyclop balls and I actually play with
Brunswick Centennial pool balls made by Aramith.
The tolerances on the Cyclop were not any better than the Centennial pool balls and so since there's no difference
in quality or specifications tolerance, it all comes to to appearance, i.e., looks. And in my opinion, the Centennial
set is #1 which is why I just sold a brand new set of Cyclop pool balls.......just not my cup of tea but apparently others
like them....I had the traditional color set and the skittles color version appealed to me even less.
Until someone come sup with a better design than the Centennial pool balls, and the Aramith Tournament design
was at least an attempt, then Centennials remain #1 in my opinion....I know others don't agree but let the photos do
the talking.....a picture is worth a 1000 words...you decide for yourself.
