New Varney J/B..........OMG!

I got my first chance to try out my new Varney jump/break cue last night. All I can say is holy crap! Not so much the break, because it does break like a horse kicking, but most of all the jumping. I've never had to put less effort into a jump shot than with this cue. Less effort to me means more accuracy. Hops over a ball with minimal effort. The ball just leaps like a frog. Jesus, Joseph and Mary! The only bad thing about last night was the turn out at the pool hall. Man, it was dead. There was no one there to even try to get a game with. Three tables were going. Mine, and two guy/girl dates. Jeez, what a sad state of affairs with the popularity of this game at this time. Well I just had to share with the rest of the A/Z billiard clan about how much I love this cue. Kevin, keep doing what your doing. Dont change one thing. Thanks so much. I love the cue.

Hey Tom, Kevin makes his jump/breaks real similar. Do a search if you want pics. I have the base model that Kevin sells for $ 375.00. To me this thread is no where near worthless. I think that the most of us want to read about results more than looks. That was the purpose of this thread. I would rather read that the cue performs better than anything than looks better than anything. Oh by the way, I AM MOTIVATED!!!!!!! lol.

Dom's cue looks just like the bottom cue in this picture.

What kind of tip does it have? Is there an option to use a non-phenolic tip? Does that take away performance?

It has the canvas-resin tip/ferrule combo I use. I really shy away from making a j/b without the canvas-resin tip...it really does hurt performance if you don't have it. I do offer an extra-hard layered tip like Superpro, except I have a 5/16 canvas-resin dowel threaded down through the center of the tip into the ferrule. Then after I shape the crown & chalk it...it looks exactly like a normal tip....except with the superior performance.;)

I love the way my Varney jumps as well. I have a trick shot where I can set the shot up on one table and jump the cueball over from another table beside it, and make the ball. And breaking, OMG is correct. It seems I always make at least a ball more often its like 3. Even made 5 a few times. Kevin's j/b cues are the bomb! I've owned 3 and they all were lethal. The one I use now he made special for me its only 16 ounces but destroys the rack and I can jump full cue from really close. I play with a Varney as well and as I've said before I'll never own any other brand!
