Looked around for a while and didn't see a specific place to place my first post. Sorry if this isn't it. I'm new to this site but been shooting for 21 years. My approach to the game has always been to advance my abilities. Never really interested in casual shooting. Before my family days I spent about 5 to 7 days in a pool hall. It was my social as well as competitive pastime. Rarely ever in a bar. Discovered this site after searching for info on laminated tips and found a lot of interesting conversations. Look forward to sharing some knowledge.
Regards

You must of missed the newbie section. If you don't do something right away, you are going to get booted. ;) jk! Welcome aboard, and get ready for the soap opera. Hey, there is some good pool related stuff sometimes too.

I think Mark also wanted to say, "welcome aboard", to March. He can't be too bad-he has 4 green bars and only one posts!

How does that happen? Return greenies maybe?;)

The reason he has all the new green is because I gave him rep. When I it the button he went from 1 to 4 green instantly. This is something which I do for everyone who joins and introduces themselves. It is just my way of saying hello and good luck.

Welcome! I'm looking forward to your views. I will be in Charlotte this Sept., maybe we can meet.......SPF=randyg

I look forward to sharing and learning here. Thanks to all for the warm welcome. I have been looking at the posts for a little while. Trying to get a feel on how it goes before I say anything. Been in forums for years so the same rules apply. Been shooting in NY for all of my life. I'm in NC now and trying to get back into the swing of things. Kind of strange walking into a hall not knowing a soul. Raleigh area.

RandyG. I might take you up on that meet. I imagine there must be some nice halls in Charlotte with so many of the pros out that way. Going there for any specific reason? Tournaments?

March

welcome to the forum. RandyG is one of the best instructors in the country.
He frequently travels to teach.

Wow, not so fast!!!

Before we just automatically lay out the green box carpet for March11934, I think it prudent in today's internet society that we request some form of identification. There's been recent cases of people:

- impersonating another person
- impersonating a pool player
- impersonating a dog

Please forward to site administrators:
- a copy of your DL
- a video of you beating the 10 ball ghost

 Don't take any wooded nickels!

Welcome,

Matt

ps: check out the thread "where to shoot in Greensboro" and if you find yourself a mere 45 minutes to your west, look me up, k? Also, check in with AZBer "crawfish" regarding Raleigh - he has area canvassed, and he just may have a little game too...

Looking at your avatar, shouldn't that read, "Welcome to the broad ?"

That might make March11934 REALLY feel Welcome..... imo

New Member Also

I have been lurking the last couple weeks and now also am activated. I didnt want to start yet another hello thread and figured to jump on board this one and introduce myself also.

I have been playing for the last 2 years after a 30+ year break where I would sneak to a pool room with my buddies on the weekend when we dropped off to go to the movies.

Its odd that I am right handed in everything but when I went to play pool a couple years ago the stick only felt comfortable when I shot left handed. (anyone else like this?) I wish I could remember if that is how I shot when I learned as a kid.

Anyway. I look forward to the interactions on this board.
