NEWS!!! BSCP loses POC Recognition

As of 05 March 2009 ; 1300Hrs Phil. Std. Time

The Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) President, Jose "Peping" S. Cojuangco Jr declares that the POC DOES NOT recognize any organisation/association as the Philippine accredited National Sport Association for Billiard/Snooker/Pool.

Reinstatement of status as recognized NSA can only come about after a POC supervised Election of Officers is held on a date specified by the POC.

This only means that the WPA/APBU will have no country representative in the Philippines until further developments unfold...

It states in the letter:

In the meanwhile, the POC Executive Board has decided, likewise, to deny recognition of any of your contending groups. To protect the interest of your athletes it has created a Special Committee to attend to their needs until final resolution of your dispute.


See Mr. Ian Anderson of WPA, it's attend to the needs of the athletes first before the desk jocks. No athletes No sport.

the POC has steep-in (and knowing the current bscp arguments posted in forums/text to pool enthusiast) it will soon be doomed due to lack of merit. but fajardo,macabenta,baranda,chua wont give-in easily their treasured seats w/o a fight in court-etc as we have witness here in PI

On what merits will their lawyers fight this? This isn't anymore contentions about entries in the BSCP by-laws. The POC exercised its right to use its "Emergency Powers" on this special circumstance. Thank you WPA for that letter about the membership deadline of March 31, 2009.
We know that the intent was to push the BMPAP Players to sign-up with your country affiliate, BSCP. But since we don't want to because of the current leadership, no BSCP election being held yet even when directed by the POC to do so and your deadline of March 31st the POC was forced to step-in to protect the players.
