Next phenolic victim

I feel pity for him...

I actually believe him when saying he don't even know what phenolic is. Sad, but when Storm needed to go Ed must go aswell...

I am not on the IPT and I know what a phelonic tip is. I know countless B level players that know perfectly well what a phelonic tip is. If a so called "pro" on the IPT tour does not know what a phelonic tip is then they probably dont really deserve to be in the event in the first place.

"I am sorry Mike Weir, we are going to have to disqualify you for using a plastic tee"

"Plastic tee? What the heck is that? I did not know! Give me a second chance!"

Welcome to professional sports.

They should have read the current issue of Inside Pool where Kevin tells the players - Don't be Stupid - know the rules.

So this is not new. Only a leather tip is allowed.

That's why we changed the Fury Jump Breaks for the players who are in the IPT and using our JBs to have super hard LEATHER tips on top of the phenolic ferrules!

EVERY IPT player is responsible for making sure their equipment is within specs.

Ed kelly...

Who's next?

I'm sure by now word of the two disqualifications has spread around the venue like wildfire and none of the rest of the players would be so stupid as to be caught with their pants down.

I'd be very surprised to hear of another one.

Does anyone know if Joe Blackburn is again set up on site to do repairs and retips. I would like to know how many phelonics he took off before people were caught??

The rules are being enforced equally. I think Deno has sent a message that you will be disqualified/fined no matter who you are, even if you're in the HOF. The message about the ban of phenolic tips is no secret and I believe that if you are caught using one during any of the IPT tournaments then its no accident. :D

Ed Kelly is a HOF'r -He has been shooting 50 years with a leather tip and he can't tell that there is just something a little bit different about his break cue?

I do not think it was intentional. At the Venetian event...Ed was called for a foul because he used the eight ball first in a combo. :o

Most of the players have cues with phenalic tips but just a layer of leather over it. I guess that is ok?

And this guy is a Hall Of Famer that has been playing for 50+ years? Surely I am missing something here:confused:
